Aren't export deals announced through KAP for Aselsan, Roketsan etc? There has been a post almost every time someone signed a new deal. How would they hide or change the real numbers?

I would assume most of the deals have been mentioned either by name of the client or as an anonymous customer, however, there is probably still a big amount of % that is not counted in the charts. I can say that this is at least the case between Morocco and Turkiye.

The Turkish defense and aerospace industry sector signed export contracts worth 10.2 billion dollars in 2023. The export revenue of the sector was 5.5 billion dollars.

President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün made important statements about the export performance of the Turkish defense and aerospace industry. While it is known that the export revenue of the sector in 2023 was 5.5 billion dollars, the amount of export contracts signed during the year was 10.2 billion dollars.

Prof. Dr. In the statement made by Haluk Görgün , “We are entering the century of defense with new important contracts. We are taking firm steps towards our sustainable export targets. We have left behind a new milestone with our record-breaking 2023 Defense and Aviation Industry Exports that we announced yesterday. Today, we are raising the bar even higher with the new contracts we signed in 2023.

Our companies, which produce helicopters, land vehicles, marine vehicles, weapons and ammunition, missile systems, electronic systems and radar systems, especially unmanned aerial vehicles, signed contracts with a total value exceeding 10,240 Billion Dollars in 2023.

With the deliveries we will start this year, we will increase our export figures in 2024 and beyond and set new records for our country.

"We will continue to share our reliable, high-technology products that have proven themselves in the battlefield with friendly and allied countries."

I've heard that some contracts are never made public. But I have no idea about size.

How did this flew under your radar folks?

Looks like Pakistan is a lost cause for KAAN. Not that Turkey technically needs them, but politically it would have been a win. Despite Turkey showing good interest in Pak's participation, they weren't very assuring from the beginning.

Previously i wrote in detail why Pakistan is likely to choose FC-31 over KAAN. But that wasn't very believable back then. Most people was almost certain, even if Pakistan don't join the program, they would definitely select to buy it as their next gen fighter.

Pakistan has always flown aircraft of both western origin and eastern origin. However, the future lies in the 5th generation warplanes. Moreover, the number of countries where 5th generation aircraft can be purchased is not more than 1-2. When they want to buy a 5th generation "WEST" origin warplane to replace the F-16s, the address they will go to will be Turkey. Therefore, I think they will be seriously interested in Kaan once he proves himself.

KAAN is far later than FC31,maybe they will buy Kaan 15 years later, who know?

Turkey has the same bad habit as Japan.

We like to compare products that are in early stages of testing with more mature products from other countries. For example the F3 or XF9 or TF-35000 or Hurjet or ALTAY in 2015.

Was already posted.
I think it is a bit early to jump to conclusions regarding Pakistan's cooperation in the KAAN project.

Pakistan Air Force Chief indicates that plans are afoot to induct the Chinese F-31/J-31 advanced fighter aircraft.

You know this is about 2040 and beyond, right?
How long will it take for us to build 200/250 KAAN's for our own airforce you think?
Lets say 24 a year at best,still a decade from 2030.
You never know what will happen to or in Pakistan till then.
Trust me,if Pakistan can Pakistan will buy KAAN.

There is a 3rd track/competition in Project AZM. not much is known but l suspect it will include parts of KAAN and FC-31. Interesting times ahead both for Turkey 🇹🇷 and Pakistan 🇵🇰.

Pakistan has an urgent need for fighters to keep up with India, another question is if Pakistan can even afford a sizeable number of Kaans, Kaan will have a price tag of 100 mil+, including other costs, we are probably looking at 200 mil total cost, Pakistan is in a middle of economic crisis and can't afford to spend billions on expensive fighters

At best 2 squadrons of KAAN.
FC-31 clocks in at 60m$ so probably 4 squadrons.
AZM really don't know.
Bulk of the air force will be comprised of JF-17 and J-10CE.
Total budgeted strength of the airforce is 20 squadrons (400 aircraft) but some quarters claim the strength has been upped to 26 squadrons.
India 🇮🇳 airforce budget is north of 40 squadrons. They would like a 2.5 to 1 advantage in numbers.

However l still feel that a variant of the F16 will also be in the mix.

Pakistan wants to use Kaan+J-31 in a hi-lo mix in the future. Chinese won't sell J-20 to anyone similar to F-22 of the US so Kaan will be the only 5th gen air superiority fighter on the market. Turkiye will produce and buy 2 per month for TurAF and another 2 per month will be allocated for exports after 2030. Scaling production even more will be a challenge but I believe 8 per month is achievable in the long run and probably will be the limit of what we can produce.

Also most of words from a minister or a general is meaningless.

Our big people even said we are interested in Su35 and J10,as well as the type 23 .

Who are these ‘’big people’’ ? Anyways it’s the Airforce who will decide which plane to buy.
Erdogan and other ministers such as Hulusi Akar and İsmail demir.

That s very normal in every country.

Plans can be delayed and changed.

Pakistan decided to bought T-129 and then we said we can overcome the engine problem within one year. But we couldn’t. So they chose the Chinese helicopters later.
