you are quite right, on this point, in any case Turkey can only be a loser with all the American companies that pump money into Turkey.
Apple, Google, Amazon, Mcdonalds, KFC, Microsoft, Ford, Android, Nike, Gaumont, Disney, Netflix, these companies collect the money of the Turks.
Honda left production in Turkey.
Hyundai is expected to leave Turkey.
Volkswagen has stopped their investment plan despite of the incentives due to the unpredictable politics.
More foreign companies are shifting their operations to alternatives, stopping their production line in Turkey.
Now tell me, why does our government give up from the production that makes Turkish people earn money and lets those companies go away? Why are they not inviting more investors? With a stronger lira back in 2-3 years ago Turkey was still a favorable place with a young population, good location and logistic opportunities.
Note: Turkish operation of fast food chains was also sold to a foreigner company. At this point we are not even making any money even from the running the operations. Why? Because the Turkish company, Anadolu Group, couldn't rely on the politics or financial figures. Took their cash and left the business.
If your economy and politics are unreliable and unstable, people, companies prefer keeping their money in cash, in gold and in currency instead of constructing factories. Investors leave, son in law melts the treasury stocks away and the State sends out IBAN to seek help of public in funding work places affected by Covid. Why? Because son in law has used the emergency money kept in the treasury to fund the budget and show good figures to his daddy.
