It is said the Cessna ('s) are for radar tests
Is Tusas not a bit late with the order?
Better late than never but yes, they are late.

If so, that's still a pretty small test bedIt is said the Cessna ('s) are for radar tests

I for my part am totally against 4th generation foreign fighter jets, be it Eurofighter or anything else.
Put all on our own Hurjet figther.
After Hurjet one can even decide for twin engine Hurjet (= practically equivalent of Eurofighter), but better is to concentrate on unmanned fighters
and continue on the TFx fully committed, every penny spend on foreign fighter jets is a waste (I am even against 40 new F16 blk 70, just take the 80 upgrade kits)
Anything less than that and we shouldn't touch them with a barge pole.Everything you say here seems to fit in well with the current situation of typhoon tranche-1.
The only way any typhoon is likely to get an Aesa radar upgrade is, if it is tranche-2 or higher.
That means, what the UK is offering is not suitable for TurAF. (If there is such an offer)
If we are to go for typhoon planes we should ask for tranche-4 with Turkish companies manufacturing both engine and body under license or in a JV.
In which way is Typhoon proven?Aaaah I always get conflicted about this because of your staunch stance on never acquiring anything from other countries. At this point I have personally made you a frame of reference, if you sign of on a deal then its definitely good lol. It makes sense to have backup plans that could meet our immediate short and medium term needs, every now and then this means acquiring foreign hardware. You however raise good points especially since 6 billion is nothing to scuff at. Greece has acquired a full squadron of Rafales and got the Viper upgrade packages as well. Egypt has been on a shopping spree to, so it makes sense to go for existing proven platform that have matured instead of waiting for our own to mature and evolve into its final form.

Developing ,testing and manufacturing a fighter jet is a decade long process. If u want to maintain parity then import is the only option.I want also answer also this special part.
Many people react like we should or need to buy extra aircraft because A or B have bought some.
Why? Do you guys think a few aircraft will change the balances? We have the life example with Russia and Ukraine, did Russia acquire absolute air superiority?
With purchased aircraft and limited number of foreign missiles we will achieve absolute nothing. We need aircraft that we can supply with an infinite number of missiles / ammunition that our own companies can build. Even with 40 new F16 we run in the same limitations, F35 idem if not more.
Our people need to understand that Turkey can become only a serious power with own made fighter jets, own missiles and own ammo. Our drones are the perfect example!

Weren't you the guy saying tanks are obsolote? We have weapons development progress in all fronts. It is a matter of months to announce ramjet missiles. Once A2A ramjets are announced ground to ground ramjets will be a natural follower. When entire hostile territory of the enemy is in our unstoppable missile range then what good is a fighter jet.
We are also getting help from a Brazilian company for development of empennage of Hürjet AFAIK.That's why BAE systems is the hired for consultancy
This is big. Fatigue and wear tests are very time-consuming.Temel Kotil: Fatigue Tests Reduced By 70 Percent With Artificial Intelligence
Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has nationalized another artificial intelligence-based capability in Aircraft Material Tests............ Thus, besides saving time, effective use of human resources will be ensured, the rate of scrap material generated during the tests will be reduced and the energy consumption during the test will be reduced.
The outnumber of GR airforce would be irrelevant if we are able to turn whole GR into A2/AD area. For TFx yes, for Hurjet not.
Parity can still be uphold by upgrading existing F16's to block 70 and none of those surrounding countries, be it Greece or Egypt form an iota of danger for Turkey. They are not in our league.
Russia was a danger, but is severely pacified now by the Ukraine war where she lost an incredible amount of material and confidence.
would you please elaborate? The outnumber of GR airforce would be irrelevant if we are able to turn whole GR into A2/AD area.
If we are abe to detect and track every start of aircrafts from GR soil, we can engage them with a missile. Before they start the mission. In the second stage, we can destroy the runways.would you please elaborate?
sounds nice, do you think that we have the ability to do so?If we are abe to detect and track every start of aircrafts from GR soil, we can engage them with a missile. Before they start the mission. In the second stage, we can destroy the runways.
Right now, we dont I guess. We need long range radar.sounds nice, do you think that we have the ability to do so?
