I just hope we are not sitting on our hands all while these things happen. Gotta have nukes, ASAP!
IMO, We are not so desperate as to 'announce to the world' that we will develop nuclear weapons.

I think our main focus is on achieving a fully isolated, independent capability in the launch platforms and command-control circle for various types of medium-range missiles. Then, to increase the variety of missiles and rockets both at cruise missile flight envelopes as well as boost-glide trajectory and balistic missile trajectory.

Those things have to go side by side with an actual nuclear warhead program though. Otherwise its just unnecessary risk, sitting with your pants in your ankles, waiting the other to catch-up.

TBH If we did ever acquire nukes, I would want them to debut in combat. Complete silence until it becomes necessary. But I also want to see some action in that field. Hence my dilemma.

An incisive and lambent account of not just the decline of Britain but more importantly the indelible components of development and growth. Specifically sapient is the quote by Frederick Lindemann on invalidity of one-to-one correspondence between researchv and development, insofar as these two are not connected via industry to students (there are countries with a lot of papers per capita in which this doesn't translate to industrial output and added value, and vice versa); this can be done even from middle school. In our schools, most students hear the names of these fields of study and they are told these are apparently good-paying (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, medicine, etc.), but have zero clue what work in these fields constitute of; this not only hampers excitement and engagement, but also deprives the country of a pool of enthusiastic, determined human capital. The link between industry and higher education should be strengthened and they then, together and through government programs, should descend upon middle schools, visiting and talking to students, explaining the work they do, the different research and engineering and scientific disciplines, their importance, and share their excitement and enthusiasm for the kind of interesting things that goes on in the industry related to their line of research or work.

But do read this piece; I don't wholeheartedly agree with what I see as hasty over-generalizations about the fate of a nation, or retrofitting of the problems to three centuries ago based on meager evidence of a couple of quotes or decisions, but I do agree with many details about historical causes of development and growth in Western Europe (esp. cultural ones) and the problems they have now because of abandoning those cultural traits.

No offense but you are not correct. It is not Turkey anymore.

More than 10 months ago Turkiye government has sent a letter to the United Nations formally requesting that it be referred to as Türkiye.
As it is spelled and pronounced in Turkish. The country called itself Türkiye in 1923 after its declaration of independence.

Idea is the better represent Turkish culture and values, including that “Made in Türkiye” be used instead of “Made in Turkey” on exported products.
So official document was accepted by UN and from that moment any country should write or say Turkiye instead Turkey on official documents or official meeting or when there is referring the country etc..
The same government who banned TC symbols, our national anthem at schools, who finds saying Turk as racist and uses Turkiyeli instead?

Yeah I'll stay sceptic. Also Turkey sounds so much better in English than Turkiye and makes writing it much easier.

I dont want to get into AK parties attack on Turkish history, culture and historical figures. We all know the insults directed towards Ataturk or erdogan islamist friends promoting to the nation that Ataturk was bad and that had the white christians conquered Turkiye it would have been better for Muslims lol.

But concerning the name change for the english speaking world, no one here gives a shit. All the politicians say Turkey, all the news papers say Turkey, even when for example you get a famous youtuber whose been told in the comments its Turkiye, they still continue to use the name Turkey. It hasnt really worked so far.

What i sense has actually happened now is that they say Turkey as a way to insult us. Before it was the name of the country, now its like im not calling you Turkiye im calling the big fat dumb bird instead, and its not an insult because i can hide behind that's what its always been called. Take peter zion for example he's always talking about Turkey, his youtube comments are filled with people telling him its Turkiye now, he still calls it Turkey in every video.

Either way it reminds of the story when Ataturk changed the name of Constantinople to Istanbul. The Europeans ignored us doing that typical arrogant thing they do where no one matters except them. They kept calling it Istanbul and the way Ataturk got around it was to make it so only post with Istanbul written down would get delivered.

The majority of People call it Istanbul and not Constantinople. The same will happen with Türkiye and Turkey. It will change but it needs a lot of time.

Russia organizes provocations in Europe to quarrel with Turkey

08:49, 08.05.23

Russia continues information sabotage in the EU

Russian intelligence services are holding fake rallies in European countries to influence the policies of other countries. This is stated in the journalistic investigation of the Swedish edition of SVT.

Journalists believe that the Russians were inspired by the January incident with the public burning of the Koran in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm, which is why Ankara has not yet approved Sweden's entry into NATO.

The publication claims that it has at its disposal an instruction drawn up by the Russian special services for their agents in Europe. The document cites the episode with the burning of the Koran as an example and suggests using local residents and migrants in European countries to foment conflicts between the EU countries and Turkey.

many of the european extremists promoting anti-Islam and anti-Turkiye propaganda are financed by Russia. Basically any narrative that creates disunity and destroys harmony the Russians push money towards.

The whole kick Turkiye out the NATO after downing the Russian instigator was pushed hard by many of these extreme right puppets. Just imagine how screwed Ukraine and eastern Europe would have been had Turkiye been kicked out of NATO. They would have forced Turkiye to side with Russia or at the very least to be agreeable to all their regional actions. Had Turkiye been kicked out of NATO this war in Ukraine maybe would go quite differently.

Russia is Turkiyes number one enemy and its the kind of enemy where even if you do your best to get on with them to be friends with them, they will always look to undermine and harm you. Its best we hurry up and send Ukraine whatever they need.

I'm also willing to bet that many of the political entities and media entities that promote division and social unrest in Turkiye also have connections to the Kremlin.

You had me up until here.
Russia's devilish tyranny is well known and consistent. But the West is no slouch either. Its an unspoken fact that we are next on the chopping block, right after Russian and China.

Its best we let the West and East fight this fight as long as possible, as brutal as possible.
Our current goal should be survival and thrival. Nothing more.

I am not sure about China, but it is obvious that we're really at the forefront of the queue after Russia. We've blocked too many processes. Therefore, a geopolitics in which Russia is always ahead in this line, not heavy defeated, but can not looking up is very useful for us in this period.

In Syria and Libya the west (anglo-american dominated entity) sides with russia against us. So the way i see it is if Russia gets bent over its better for us. Just one less enemy we have to deal with. The moment both the USA and Russia came together to oppose us in syria we hit a brick wall. So its good that Russia loses and loses big in Ukraine for Turkiye.

Historically no other power was as opportunistic against the Ottomans as the Russians were, why we don't take this opportunity and screw them for the ages is a big mistake.

We need to break out of this east vs west mentality, thats a trap that plays to benefit either the USA or Russia. We are not really part of either civilisation, we are own axis and must operate under this perception.

When it comes to Turkiye, the USA and Russia work together. Any country that creates a fiasco for herself like Russia invading Ukraine will be exploited by her rivals. We should learn from this and realise that if we make a mistake it will exploited, hence we shouldn't make any mistakes.

Syria was an example of a dumb mistake that our enemies exploited, got erdogan to join the isreali/american led war against Assad, then once they dragged Turkiye far enough out into the ocean left us to sink. We are fortunate that our army is capable, because they stopped Syria turning into a nightmare, its still a massive fiasco but geopolitically its not quite the nightmare of Ukraine.

Ukraine could be, though unlikely the beginning of the end of the Russian federations

Syria for Turkiye is a massive shit show, but Turkiye has a massive footprint in the north now and all things look like the long term resolution will be Turkiye taking complete control of the north and putting the PKK to bed there.

scum bags! So we let them in for no reason huh?

🔴Finland Foreign Minister Haavisto (Tagesspiegel / Interview):

"Even though Turkey has taken us into NATO, our basic principles are still valid.

According to Turkey, the YPG is a terrorist organization, but we do not agree with it. We've lifted the arms embargo, but we're going to see what weapons to give."

Ilham Aliyev: "Unfortunately, today some people want to exclude Azerbaijan from the "Central Corridor", but their desire will not be realised"

Just with a couple sentences, Azerbaijan's concerns and security paranoia were brought to the peak. Azerbaijan is going through a very difficult process and the slightest hesitation, the slightest weakness of will will cost Azerbaijan a great deal. Azerbaijan's geopolitics in military, political, economic and social terms is now an integral part of Turkiye's geopolitics. We are two halves of one apple. As a citizen, I urge all politicians to be more careful in their statements.

Why is KK even showing a Map without Azerbaijan linked to it? Is he fucked in the head or what is he? On one hand, we have a fucking islamist that changes the Country into a hell hole and on the other hand we have a retard that excludes Azerbaijan and is a western boot licker. Holy hell what a choice...
