Rather than focusing on establishing a joint military posture, we need to demonstrate how this can foster a consensus on economic and regional interests. Will Egypt and Turkiye sign a joint EEZ agreement in the Eastern Mediterranean? Will Saudi Arabia and Turkiye sign a framework agreement on the New Hijaz Railway and energy corridor? It’s not just from our perspective. There are certain steps that need to be taken to build trust even between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

True deterrence emerges when countries align their interests and mutual dependence deepens. A military alliance framework is a natural extension of this, not the starting point. Most things that begin with grand rhetoric in this region are nothing more than empty talk with a lifespan as short as a few tea parties.
Agreed.

The thing gives me hope is that circumstances are driving these countries to stand together now more than ever. There are common threats and mutual interests. Cooperation works for all the sides as everyone brings something to add on the table. We need them, they need us.

We just need to build trust and increase cooperation in an instutionalized manner. That's what Hakan Fidan was saying in his latest interview actually.

To be widely dismissed by the West after unofficially labeling it a Sunni axis.
To be joyfully embraced by Israel as a threat towards the existence of it after officially labeling it as an evil axis of anti-Semite and anti-Israel.
Also this looks like High card at poker. No pairs. No set of three. Üç benzemez.
My two cents.
Do we seriously need to care what the West or Israel labeling us at this point?

Ankara is planning to build Oil refinery by 2027 in Mogadishu

As Türkiye’s CagriBey drill ship started his activities in Somalia waters, Ankara is planning to build an oil refinery which has capacity of more than 50,000 to 200,000 BPD.

Once the size and quality of the oil is determined via direct sampling and lab tests, which determine the type of the refinery needed, a financing model will then be discussed with Somali, Turkish and international stakeholders, often involving government bodies, major #energy companies, international regulatory agencies and local lawmakers.

On average, a medium refinery with 50,000–200,000 bpd capacity costs around $4-6 billion depending on complexity and takes up to 5 years before it’s fully operational, complete with storage areas and a tanker terminal. It would create direct employment for ~1000 Somalis 70% blue collar plus open 5000 additional jobs in the vicinity as “side industry” covering transportation, security, plastics, petrochemicals, recycling, housing, social services, construction, etc. Much of the oil would be exported around the world via sea routes, but new pipelines and or trucking lines would also take finished products gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, etc to the rest of Somalia and inland into East African markets.

At 90% average utilization 180,000bpd, such an enterprise could generate Mogadishu $7-8.5 billion of additional gross revenue per year based on moderate pre-Iran War oil prices, funding all kinds of development across the country.

We expect to hear the first official announcement for such a refinery in early 2027, and if all goes well on the financing and regulatory side, its construction to begin by late 2028

Frankly, it’s best to take this news with a pinch of salt at this stage. On the other hand, Somalia seas has some preliminary findings that could potentially make it one of Africa’s largest oil producers. TPAO also conducted extensive hydrocarbon studies prior to the drilling operations. These were not shared with the press; we’ve only seen a few enthusiastic statements from Somalia. When we piece these reports together, the conclusion is either that something big is on the horizon, or that Somalia’s hopes now rest entirely on these drilling activities—and in fact, both outcomes could be partially accurate.

What will she do when she sees this photo?
Will she go crazy?
But she's already crazy enough.

Türkiye, UK sign 'strategic partnership' framework to deepen ties
Turkish FM Hakan Fidan meets with Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs Yvette Cooper in London, UK on April 23, 2026. / Anadolu Agency

Türkiye and the United Kingdom have signed a “Strategic Partnership Framework Document”, establishing a renewed route to further advance bilateral relations and expand co-operation through closer dialogue.
According to a statement on Thursday shared by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on X, the document was signed during a meeting between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Secretary Yvette Cooper in London.
A joint statement shared by the Turkish foreign ministry's official website stated that the Framework Document covers a wide range of areas, from security to climate change, and from humanitarian development to science and technology.
It aims to further strengthen the existing strategic partnership between the two NATO allies and to expand the scope of co-operation enhanced through close dialogue at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

Focus on NATO and global security
The statement added that the framework "creates a strong basis to strengthen dialogue and co-operation between our two countries as NATO Allies and strategic partners who share an historic friendship, excellent bilateral relations and common perspectives on a wide range of international issues and global challenges, including a strong desire for security and stability in the Middle East."
The statement further highlighted that the accelerating shift towards a fragmented, multipolar international order is heightening risks for both Türkiye and the UK, while underscoring the continued importance of deterrence and defence within NATO’s Strategic Concept in ensuring Euro-Atlantic security.
“NATO, the bedrock of our security and collective defence, has increased its political and military relevance,” it said, adding that “strong transatlantic relations are indispensable to peace and stability in Europe.”
Cooperation across security, economy and global challenges
The framework aims to deepen UK–Türkiye cooperation across a wide range of areas, including global security, NATO coordination, defence and industry collaboration, counterterrorism, and humanitarian efforts. It also expands joint work on climate change, energy security, and partnerships in science, technology, and innovation.
The joint statement highlights that the Framework “reaffirms our intention to increase bilateral trade and investment”, including through talks on a "modernised Free Trade Agreement" aimed at supporting shared economic growth.
"The talks in London today underline that relations between the UK and Türkiye are rooted in strong economic and growth ties, a shared commitment to the defence of Euro-Atlantic security and enduring people-to-people links which continue to enhance mutual understanding and goodwill," the statement noted.

You know what an Honour it is for Von De Leyen to call Turkiye in the same basket as China and Russia.

EU will always see Turkiye as a rival and a threat.

Us Turks have always been Eastern and Asian. They will never tolerate us.

Turkiye is like the outpost of the Turkic world that is close to Europe.

So much for European unity when they cant even accept Macedonia, Albania and Bosnia due to Religion.

I told you that the agenda that has been targeting Turkey and turkish Goverment and the Turkish population (Citizens) in Germany and Europe since 2015—and which relies on a negative portrayal—is a prelude to a military conflict. It won’t happen immediately, but in 6 to 8 years, given the situation in the Aegean, it’s very, very realistic.

I kind of agree with you. There's some sort of preparation of war/conflict of some kind against Turkiye. But, remember it will mostly be located maybe in Syria or Africa.

Also point about the dehumanization of Turks in Germany, in UK it's different, Turks are seen in a positive light by the British, but of course the Jewish Media tries to portray us in a negative light although it's not working.

When examining the European security architecture, one must set aside Great Britain—which is pursuing an independent course regardless, due to its separate MoUs with Turkey and its withdrawal from the EU. The focus, rather, is on the core of the EU: Germany, France, Austria, Scandinavia, the Benelux countries, as well as Greece and Cyprus. A growing interest is coalescing here to secure the gas and oil reserves in the Aegean as a central European energy resource project.

A clear rift is emerging within the EU: While states such as Spain and Italy adopt a pragmatic stance and seek to avoid escalation within NATO, pressure is mounting among the other group to assert their sovereignty in the region.

The Future Scenario:
I posit that in the event of a US withdrawal from its leadership role in NATO, the EU will strive for a fundamental realignment. The current rearmament phase is structured around a six-to-eight-year timeline. The objective is to establish a purely European defense alliance PESCO following this consolidation, one that systematically excludes Turkey.

In this scenario, NATO would exist merely pro forma until the EU member states withdraw collectively to create an independent security architecture. The strategic objective here is not direct warfare, but rather a long-term, coordinated containment of Turkish ambitions in the Aegean—flanked by a close security alliance with Israel.

its much older then 2015, for example FETO was decades in the making. Erdogan and Islamist politics today is a child of that agenda. Because if the white man wants to destroy Turkiye, what better way then to show them as backward savage islamists incompatible with western values. Same thing was done to Iran, but Iran today is being destroyed. Our turn is yet to come.

Under AK party its very easy to paint Turkiye as the bad guy, no one in the west likes Muslims, their caricature of them is basically your dark skinned bearded turban wearing taliban type. Its an easy image for the white west to hate. To them its the sign of everything negative.

Even the movie midnight express they tried to show Turkiye as an islamist hellhole as part of the dehumanisation process.

Ataturk understood the mindset of the enemy, so he presented an image to them that was hard to dehumanise. It protected the Turks and ultimately it protected the Muslims. It showed the part of the world that had all the power that these people are not subhuman savages.

Turning the agia sophia into a mosque during a period where hatred for Muslims in the west is rapidly on the rise is another example of either stupidity or open treason.

What do you think of an "Alliance" of some sort with UK, Spain and Italy? I mean, I'd rather them than any nation that's basically a slave to US in the Middle East.
These nations do not hate Turks unlike some others, so it's very doable from where I am standing.

Do you honestly they'd exclude us Turks from any defence alliance ? I mean, who the hell in Europe is going to stop what they're doing and be readily./happily die fighting Russians? I don't see it man. Not even Europe is that stupid.

I don't know, all this seems a little far-fetched for me. I truly do not see any EU Defence bloc without Turkiye involved.

Only Jews see it that way though. The average Northern European don't really think nothing of Muslims like Turks.. They just don't want the Asian kind in their countries that openly show hatred to the native populations.

Well, this is another topic, AK Party was mostly supported by the EU. I remember it all "we want to join EU". never happened and here we are , still stuck with them. Which also damaged our reputation in the world this damn EU application.

Should be back being a Church, imagine how much those anti-Turks would be pissed if we did that?

At the Kourou Cosmodrome in French Guiana, as part of dismantling work, Europeans blew up a launch pad previously used for Russian Soyuz rocket launches.
The launch pad was built in 2011 and has hosted 27 launches over the past 10 years.
After the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the Europeans abandoned Russia's services.

Last year, a major launch accident occurred at the Baikanur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, depriving Russia of the ability to launch its manned rockets.

Now the Russians don't know how to get to the International Space Station🫢

I live in England, Muslims are generally despised. If you can pass as a white European you will hear their most intimate thoughts on the issue. If your brown faced then naturally most of them are not going to "openly" say they hate you. Its a bit like when im around english and they openly mock the indians behind their backs despite being "friends" with them.

Supported by the same western entities. FETO backed AK party 100%. Islamist agenda was hijacked from day one, no different to what happened to Iran. Destroy secularism and Muslims will start murdering each other across the sects. Just look at how the fanatical shias of iran or wahhabists of saudi behave. Everyone is an enemy and the most minor of differences is enough to kill over.

Mostly Jews though. You know they run Hollywood not sure we should blame Europeans for this.

Europeans push the exact same propaganda about the PKK that the Americans do. Freedom fighters... I've seen Czech cartoons for kids that dehumanises the Turkish people and Islam. Google one called "Turkish moon".

Ideally it should have been left alone. Plenty of Churches in Turkiye, the europeans never gave us any positive press over it. Had we turned it into a church, they wouldn't report it.

Totally my experience here in the States. MAGA guy justifying to a foreigner that they are not against foreigners but just don’t support illegal, undocumented immigrants. To me they pour their hearts out 😂
I somehow pass for Spanish (Hispanic) and Italian btw, so they feel more comfortable around me 🥸

Most of these Brits have family members with a house in Turkiye, I never ever experienced any hatred for being a Turk. I don't look brown so maybe thats why? Either way, I don't see why we cannot form relations with UK.
And this Indian dislike must be a northern region thing, I honestly don't see much Indians in London, although in Essex you see more and more.

Iranians hate all Muslims though, they just use Shia as a tool to have an excuse. You really do not need Europeans to give Iran a reason to want to kill Sunnis etc.
Try speaking to an Iranian for 5-minutes and you'll see this.

Eurojews do have a hatred for all things Turkish, this is not a surprise. but most Northern European are indifferent to us. Most wouldn't even know where our country is for goodness sake.

In UK you would struggle to find "Christian" practicing Brits, so why would they care?
EU has 27 members. How many are "friendly" to us and how many not?
I can ask about how many Muslim countries are friendly towards us... almost zero.
