What are some key features of the F4 variant?
Nothing much, it's an improvement of F3R standard, with improved radar, avionics, irst, spectra, connectivity, uprated engine and adding more weapon and external sensor integration.

I'm just confused, I just asked on another forum and someone Frenchman sent this link.
Well no offense really, just a bit fed-up with that question popping out over and over again is all, please use search next time, and the only source that keep mentioning F3R version is LaTribune, while Dassault press release and other publication always mention 'the latest generation Rafale', whatever that even means.

there is no second contract, third contract or so on. There is only one bulk contract for Rafale. And it is for convenience of budget sake, Indonesian made several payment budget for loan arrangement.

Duhh....

Meteor is a big priority tho. Combined the very long range of the Meteor and the very long range radar coverage of AWACS assets, the Meteor could be unleashed in its full potential, all without the Rafale having to turn on their own radar.

Rafale has pretty small T/R array numbers

One of the reasons why we have to stick with Boramae. Rafale platform (which developed in 90s) already reaches its limit. Except Super Rafale if French really going for it.

But, F4 will has new RBE2 radar, right?

Major Arms deals with the US is a must, even SMI know that and can't intervened too much except trying to find out which years the budget must be prepared and have a headache because of that
