if we are indeed getting the f-15, i don't think we are granted the EX version. the furthest we can get probably the qatari version.
my oh my, you may be right. All the more reason to buy Su-57 instead, just like 🇻🇳 right❓ Afterall the 🇨🇳 still doesn't operate the Su57, so it will be great time for 🇮🇩 to get them first right❓

cut the sarcasm pls, i base my argument on alman's writing while ago through his semar sentinel's infographic. he said that we are unlikely to get the full EX version.

They (Boeing) would be more inclined to offer some Israeli solution instead of their regular package in F15EX

Do we really want ToT in electronic warfare and yet the French and the US won't give it to us? There's always solution :

"Thailand has also received technology transfer in areas including electronic warfare, datalinks, avionics and logistics, and 63 Thai personnel have been funded through scholarship programmes in Sweden."

😁🤭

Just like i said before, if the US don't want to sell us F-35 and F-15Ex, we better go for Rafale all the way, just add those Rafale contract from 36 to 64 unit, and concentrate on KF-21 Boromae development so we can purchased it before 2028 to replace our aging F-16

We need some sort of tie with Superpower Uncle to face big red from north. And our Air Force is much more keen to adopt US jets more than French actually (that Alman's sentinel post).

Bold: impossible. Even RoKAF first unit will be received that year.

Keeping the tie doesn't always mean buying new fighters. We plan to buy their Osprey, Black Hawk, C-130J, UAVs, etc. Plus we still operate full two squadrons of F-16 until probably the next 10-15 years. Also the Apaches, etc.

Heck we even cooperate with the US to build the new strategic maritime center in Batam for Bakamla. For me this is more intriguing than fighter. Really hope we have something more for Bakamla from the US.

We are not gonna cut ties with the US, if the US wanted us to purchases some of their goodies there are plenties US toys that we can buy, like C-130 J and E-7a Wedgetail.
And if I am not mistaken, those KF-21 Boromae have two separate production line, one in South Korea and one in Bandung right...so getting it the same time with ROKAF is not impossible

Bold 1: aren't high profile enough and It will slashing their fighter jet market here for foreseeable future.

Bold 2: not contributing to American jobs opportunity.

They still lost high profile, lucrative fighter jet market here. Also AFAIK MoD and AU already decide on SAAB product for AEW.

Korean production line is ready and advance, ours not.

Osprey is definitely much more high profile than F-16. Only Japan who operates it outside the US. Not even their close allies like Israel, Australia, even NATO countries operate it.

F-16 is just another 4th gen fighter that many countries in the world have. Even the Philippines got the offer of the most advanced version of F-16 recently.

Like you said it your self, if the US don't want to lose those "lucrative" fighter market here in Indonesia, they should let us purchase F-15Ex if they don't want us to own F-35.
As long they keep pushing on F-16v that the MoD don't want, I feel better if we just go all the way for Rafale, that's just my thought though :)
