Fixed that for you.

As written in the presentation, I don't think that Pindad has already started its full development phase. Or in other words, it's likely still in concept phase at best.

Well considering our medium tank projects started from 2010 since MoU with FNSS back then, and only recently got shipped and prepared for production in Indonesia. The concept would take a decade or more maybe before being accepted and passing various different testing and got into production line.

Cant wait till PINDAD have capability to independently produce the Hull. Who knows, perhaps we can put Artilery Gun Module turret or K9 turret on it.

I hope they also make tank-destroyer version of it 🤣

As long as it doesn't have a top-attack mode, Pulat should do its work properly.

Ukraine has given a little of mechanical know-how and nothing so far, and yes the license too.

Aselsan has remarkably improved the seeker performance and the reaction time - electronics - EW resistance (possibly using some integration with the remaining systems on tank) . And it is already a product and in use. (At least should be in use with Turkish M60)

Aselsan on the other hand developing Akkor APS with Tubitak. Ukraine has no contribution on that project and they have already reached a maturity.
Those Pulat APS systems saved lots of tanks I have spoken with several M60T tankers they all say the same "It saved us from being toasted" that stuff works.

Self Propelled Anti Air presentation for Arhanud.

presentation done by PT.RDI (the one that offer pandur solution to AD in cooperation with excalibur army), perhaps it will use Pandur 2 Platform.

The thing that makes you go "Hmmm..."

This will be useful not only for anti-aircraft defense - especially with the addition of a SHORAD missile, but also as IFV for infantry fire support - not to mention that gun elevation angle will surely come in handy for urban combat in the city.

However, one must also question how it will be able to detect small airborne targets such as UAV and loitering munitions, considering that this is a self-propelled and mobile platform which - presumably - mostly will not be deployed together with a radar/sensor vehicle.

well this was rheinmetall explanation regarding their skyranger turret, those small square thing are AESA radar.

"He started from the first link of the air defence chain, that is sensors allowing target detection, “The first issue is to see the target, which is not easy task when dealing with small items such as Class I UAVs. The detection sensor adopted on the Skyranger is the brand-new S-band AESA Multi-Mission Radar (AMMR) under development by Rheinmetall Italia, five flat antennas being integrated around the turret to provide full 360° coverage,” he explained, adding that the new radar was tested in Switzerland one day prior the presentation, starting its qualification process.

The S-band provides a detection range of around 20 km, the system being optimised for small targets in order to cope with most recent threats. An active system is always a target for RF-seeking weapons, hence RAD installed on its Skyranger 30 a passive detection system, in the form of Rheinmetall’s FIRST (Fast InfraRed Search and Track) that allows surveillance without giving out the presence of the Skyranger. “This sensor is also optimised to detect pop-up targets, as the typical helicopter threat has not gone away,” Dr. Vischer points out."

it looks indeed "expensive".

With how they perform in Ukraine recently, it's a waste of USD15 million each. But if we really want them, maybe we can ask for trade with some Ukrainian farmers who managed to impound them in their barn somewhere.

expect this thing can reach 20 to 25 million US Dollar depend on their configuration
If they can perform as promised and advertised, then it's worth it.

So when can we start to collect donation to purchase, say, 100 units of them? I have 50K (IDR, though) 🤪 right now that I'm willing to donate, you guys can add the rest.

The presentation mention Skyprotector CIWS 35, which I assumed to be Skyranger 35 system or Lance 35 turret from Rheinmetall.

But then the presentation slide shows Ares TORC30 turret with 30mm gun, not 35mm.

Btw, the turret mounted on those Boxers AFV are Skyranger 30 system with 30mm gun, not 35mm despite both of them also support AHEAD ammunition.

yeah i guess the one version with 35mm munition are rather too bulky, it does make more sense if it's equipped with 30mm instead.

but those solution are rather lacking in detection sensor (they merely depend on that EO/IR )

which one do you guys think is better though, an all in one SPAA systems (surveillance radar + Target acquisition radar + anti air weaponry either cannon or missile are in one platform) like Pantsir, Tunguska, Gepard AA, Type 87 or PGZ-09.

or a systems with multiple separate module that are placed on dedicated platform like said an mobile AA system composed of 5 vehicle :
3 vehicle are for the firing unit (equipped with cannon or either missile).
1 vehicle equipped with Surveillance radar.
1 vehicle equipped with Target Acquisition radar.
