KSAL Inaugurates 2 New Domestically Made Warships

ksal-resmikan-kapal-perang-baru-buatan-dalam-negeri-m-iqbal-detikcom_169.jpeg

Cilegon - The Chief of Staff of the Navy (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono inaugurated two new warships made in the country. The two ships were named KRI Dorang-874 and KRI Bawal-875.
This ship was built at a shipyard owned by PT Caputra Mitra Sejati in Salira, Serang Regency. This ship is in the 60 meter class with a specification of 60 meters long, 8.50 meters wide and weighing 440-520 tons.

This ship is said to be able to go with a maximum speed of 24 knots, a cruising speed of 17 knots and an economical speed of 15 knots. The ship is said to have a sailing endurance of six days and can carry 46 personnel plus nine reserve personnel.

"Our patrol boat, which used to be built with PC 40, is currently being developed into PC 60, so that we hope to be able to carry out shipping operations far beyond, in our ZTE (Exclusive Capture Zone). So with this new development with PC 60, in the future, can be equipped with missiles in an emergency, but in a situation like this, we use these two KRI PC 60 for routine patrols in the context of law enforcement," said Admiral Yudo, Monday (21/3/2022).

This ship was made with experts from within the country. Yudo said he was proud because the ship could be finished on time.

"These are ships 8 and 9 that have been built by PT Caputra Mitra Sejati since 2015 and were also built together with experts from Indonesia and ITS graduates, design and so on so that in the allotted time they are able to build and on time and today we launch and give the name according to the name of our patrol boat so that with the eight hull the names are the names of fish," he said.

After being inaugurated, the two ships will be sent to Sorong to strengthen Koarmada 1 and 3. These ships are said to be capable of being fitted with missiles on both sides of the hull.

"The specialty later will be that weapons will be installed in the bow of 40 millimeters and also on the right and left sides of 20 millimeters for air defense. Because this is a peaceful situation so that it is sufficient to carry out sea patrols. We will add missiles because the room for the channel has also been prepared," he said.

Yugoimport-SDPR M71/08 20 mm cannon sebagai meriam sampingan (secondary gun)
Already sign a contract with any RCWS / Gun manufacturer to locally assembly - produce RCWS with a share of the workload and ToT.
Remove those manned Yugoimport, those are not useful beyond any sea state or severe weather conditions.

Terma radar, CMS, gun control, premium Bofors 57mm with low-RCS cuppola and then yugoimport manned 20 mm?

They got fetish with manned gun either Yugoimport gun or Denel vector gun, doesn't know why. My bet they would put them too on FREMM or even Mogami class, they already put Denel vector manned gun into Martadinata class 🤣🤣

Man behind the gun they said...

Our personnel is highly trained and they can aim manually and accurately even at harsh weather condition.

Is what I want to believe.

On a serious notes, Remotely controlled Naval gun system is already within our reach actually, as there is several research and progress with large stabilizer, gyro gear, bearing and optical guide sensor and we are already have working RCWS on land platform and working on large caliber turret.

Darto a.k.a Eyeball Mk. I 'radar' all the way.

I would like to imagine that each of our sailors has been fitted with an embedded interface in their bodies to link with the ship's electronic sensors. You know, like cyborg?

Why would we need CIWS, RCWS and all those fancy stuffs when these guys:

...are more than enough to shoot down every AShM and attacking aircraft down with just a single shot? 😁

Ah yes. But as usual, one of the main reasons why those researchs and prototypes won't see the light of the day to be mass produced is [REDACTED] by [REDACTED].

Would love to be proven wrong though.

You should check out the Martadinata class secondary gun.

What I find funny are, among the current navy fleet, the class of Brunei 'rejected' ship, in paper, are the one that fit the role of proper ocean-going naval vessel term the best (sail in open sea and fight in the rough sea condition with adequate weapon system to at least defense itself from common threats).

Not in term of modern equipment per se but in the plethora of supporting sensor for her weapon system to fight confidently in adverse weather/sea condition where the presence of soldier on deck operating manual weapon could be a liability.

Pindad expanded the ammo production capacity is already a huge achievement by MoD. I bet there're tons of people resenting him just for that achievement alone.

And hopefully Pindad will produce even more variety of ammo locally with Nexter cooperation. Oh man, those people will resent MoD even more.

Well he already ordered everything in bulks, 500 maung, 25000 new rifle for komcad, six FREMM, 42 Rafale, 4 Billion munition, hundreds of anoa apc, hundreds of komodo APC and so on...

the cutout for NSM launcher hatch can already be seen, looks like it will be 2x4 (8 canister) setup with launcher facing the bow/front.

i hope they replace the yugoslavian 20mm with oerlikon millenium instead.
No railing around the gun, this give ketar-ketir feeling for the gun operator especially during rough weather.

Is the boat flame resistant enough now?
No exhaust vent at the stern?

What Is that 2 hole at left and right side of the RHIB ramp, exhaust vent?

KRI Golok

That hole become something like a door now.
Perhaps the exhaust vent is located between the main hull and outrigger hull?

One of them that was discussed was the modernization of the main weaponry system and the combat capability of the personnel. The two also discussed the South China Sea (SCS) as well as issues related to Russia and Ukraine.

Any information why we didn't develop our own torpedo? We have the capability to produce SUT torpedo under AEG license.

Why stopped there?
AFAIK ID torpedo development is no longer priority project and has been dead since years ago.
