Four to six LPD, more than thirty LST, no wonder ship displacement tonnage is so big.

Instead the number of combatant assets is very less....

If the recent purchase and building process can come into fruition Indonesia navy would see the surge in total number of combatant tonnage, just six FREMM and two itver huitveld would contributed at least 48,000 tonnage, not to mention other smaller assets like two OPV 90, TAIS two attack boats of 65 meter class, and so on.

Prabowo Wants to Increase the Modernization of TNI Warships
Add 44 More KRIs!

Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto wants to increase the number of modernized Indonesian Navy KRIs to guard Indonesia's maritime territory. Currently, there are 41 Indonesian Navy ships being modernized by PT PAL Indonesia.

"From these 41 warships, maybe it could increase to 43 to 44 KRI," Prabowo said while giving a briefing to Echelon I and II officials at the Ministry of Defense (Kemhan), Jakarta, Tuesday (2/1/2023).

He also asked his staff to speed up the process of adding the number of KRIs to be modernized so that they are ready for combat in order to maintain national defense. "Please approach Mabesal.

Please, those who are no longer operational, immediately enter the dock. There should be no bureaucratic obstruction," Prabowo warned.
