btw there are already many denials about Alman tweet....some said it was just "kabar angin" and Thales still trying to push their luck and we still prefer Leonardo configuration

Unless they have already finished their technical detail engineering phase, in which still going on
Formidable class also use Aster 30

Nah better avoid whatever they are offering to us.....it doesn't sounds right for me to buy weapons from your potential enemy

China LPD Type 071 seems okay to me, though they can offer it with western Made sensor and CMS it Will be plus point. Another issue is we need to know their Made weaponry and system level... Turkey had been doing such thing with Russian Made system

Russian Mistral deal would be a better example, a French-built ship fully equipped with Russian systems
Turkey doesn't use Russian originated systems on Naval platforms.
While S400 is rather an independent unit, Russians didn't allow much to interfere except of the IFF.
Maybe that makes more sense if Indonesia collaborates for Dokdo class, considering earlier collaboration on Makassar class.
Moreover, Western or Japanese shipyards wouldn't provide ToT to a shipyard possibly receiving ToT from a Chinese shipyard too. So better to choose a shipyard for one-time use only. :)

I wouldn't mind if China sells us their Type-071 LPD for a good price. 😁

It's actually cheap. The Thais got it for just $200 mil.

Anyway, I think that $200 mil should go to frigates/submarines acquisition program first. Besides, there's no mention of LPD on the leaked list from Rapim so it's probably not urgent needs.

that's what I mean, you see we only need Chinese comparatively competitive price, to build it's hulls and install the engine, it's not like Indonesia will equip its LPD with advanced electronics and CMS.

AFAIK, all Indonesian navy Makassar class LPD uses civilian radar and no CMS, unlike it's Singaporean neighbor.

for me the Makassar is to small, and it's aviation facility is very limited.

The amount is exactly 1/10th of the second batch contract for nagapasa.
While $17 million could be for something else (for example torpedo countermeasures for remaining 2 hulls, or just 1)

Indonesian Navy Marine corps PT76 is clearly already a different beast compared to other PT76 which is still in active service for other countries. Beside using US Made drivetrain, engine BLOCKS, they too had Cockeril John 90 mm gun, Hariss radio set, and already modernized optical sight, targeting system, GCH and stabilizer.

Are you referring the stern area?
Overall, the touches at supper structure (diagonal flat surfaces), purposing stern area(at least two decks) probably for accommodation, and better looking landing spot.

KRI Bontang looks alot better than KRI Tarakan, it actually looks awesome.
Wasn't Tarakan commissioned in 2014-2015?

both of the ships are built by the same design with significant improvement, in fact, most of Indonesian tradition is very much like this,
we build a thing
we ordered it
we improved it
we ordered it
we another improved it
we ordered it

it happens to all kind of stuff we use, thats why one thing is kind of different with another but still itu itu aja gt

its not like european design that already mature design since the begining

and about the tanker, we actually put another contract last year

and the design will slightly different with some another improvement
