TOGG's fine. But Koç group was infamously uncooperative during TOGG's inception. Seems like they'd rather pimp out the labor of the Turkish worker to the lowest bidder instead of generating value for the motherland.

Koc is working with multiple car OEMs and wouldnt risk their existing partnerships and cash cows for it.
Understandable from their POV. I hope they join forces on chips.

Koç is needed for one vital thing. Koç needs to switch their insane household electronics production to national chips so that this initiative can live. This means Koç has to take a hit because national chips will probably be more expensive.

Alright, understandable.
But they could've lend the name "Anadol", as a gesture of solidarity. Or they could've done other small, but significant contributions. But they have chosen to do zilch.
Which is telling.

Dont expect companies to do any favor to anyone if its not worth it to them. Don't confuse them with our state enterprises.

Success Continues in the Digital Field of Cluster 4: 1 Million 650 Thousand Euros Grant to 5 Turkish Institutions with the Newly Announced 2023 Call Results

Turkish organizations that made project applications in the IT sector in 2023 were entitled to receive a total of 3 million 414 thousand Euros, 1 million 764 thousand and 1 million 650 thousand Euros, from the European Commission in the two disclosure periods, within the scope of the Horizon Europe Program, national coordination of which is carried out by TUBITAK!

Focusing on digital technologies, “Destination 3: World-leading data and computing technologies (DATA)”, which is under the “Cluster 4: Digital, Industry and Space” cluster of Horizon Europe Program, “Destination 4: Digital for competition and compliance with green consensus” and emerging technologies (DIGITAL EMERGING)” and “Destination 6: Human-centered and ethical development of digital and industrial technologies (HUMAN)” 2023 calls, 10 Turkish organizations, 1 of which is in the role of coordinator, which applied for projects in 2023. The project was awarded the right to be supported by the European Commission.

According to the second result announcements of 2023;

Boğaziçi University applied as a partner under the call title HORIZON-CL4-2023-DIGITAL-EMERGING-01-01: Novel paradigms and approaches, towards AI-driven autonomous robots (AI, data and robotics partnership) (RIA) “Interactive robots that The project with the acronym intuitiVely lEarn to inVErt tasks by ReaSoning about their Execution”,INVERSE received 14 points as a result of the Commission evaluation. There are 11 organizations in the project consortium, and Boğaziçi University's budget is 745 thousand Euros, while the total budget of the project is 8 million Euros.
With INVERSE, robots, which will carry out activities with the support of artificial intelligence applications, will develop their own decision-making mechanisms, implement them, predict the results of their decisions, and be able to predict the results of their decisions, thanks to the "experiences" they will gain, especially in factory environments, and when they are transferred to different environments through continuous learning, they can develop their own skills, just like a human. It is aimed to adapt to the new field based on their experiences. Within the scope of the project, trials will be carried out in two different working environments and the opportunity to apply the developed technology in the field will be achieved.

Altınbaş University's HORIZON-CL4-2023-DIGITAL-EMERGING-01-53:
“Ultra-Fast Chemical Analysis Imaging With Raman”, acronym of uCAIR, with which it is a partner under the call title of Versatile light sources and systems as tools for manufacturing and medical application (Photonics Partnership) (RIA), received 14.5 points. There are 11 organizations in the project consortium and the budget that Altınbaş University is entitled to receive is 562 thousand Euros, and the total budget of the project is 5 million Euros.
In order to prevent the cases that cause viral infections, neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal diseases, including cancer cases, which start with the disruption of molecular sequence at the cell level and cost the lives of 1.9 million people every year in Europe and a public budget of 200 billion Euros, various cell cellular imaging technologies are used. However, the imaging methods used today cannot explain the biochemical cell structure and how the disorders occur with the deterioration of the related structure.

With uCAIR, it is planned to develop a new imaging approach for a faster, more sensitive and personalized diagnosis/treatment. uCAIR, which will bring together competent SMEs in the field of photonics and cell biology laboratories, and where microscopy experts and clinical teams will create a new photonics/laser platform, will benefit from advanced imaging and augmented chemometric digitization with non-linear optical fiber, optoelectronic, broadband Raman and artificial intelligence technologies. It will follow cells and tissues by taking advantage of it. The new photonic technologies, which will be the output of the project, can be used in basic research microscopes and microfluidic channels, as well as in new biomarker discoveries and endoscopy, cystoscopy and related medical imaging devices.

Industry Minister Mr Mehmet Kacır:

"In order to meet Turkiye's needs in the chip industry, we need an investment of billions of dollars.

We aim to do this with a global cooperation. We are having very important discussions (Gulf visit?)

We want to give good news of these in the coming period"

Lossless energy transmission, ultra-powerful magnets, super fast and energy-efficient computer chips. Fusion will be a reality with ultrapowerful and lossless magnets, and confining plasma efficiently will be possible. The efficiency of electrical engines will reach %99+. Maglev transportation will be the new norm. There are so many things.

@Agha Sher , @TheInsider has explained it fairly well.

This is mega news!

Just to add;
What is super conductivity?
That is what one needs to know first.
It is the point where a conductor carrying direct current electricity, has near zero resistance.
To achieve this with current technology, we need to cool circuits to a temperature that is as near as possible to absolute zero (zero Kelvin = minus 273.15 degrees Celsius) and use esoteric conductors.

The major stumbling block of any electrical engineer is to always consider the resistance of conductors in a circuit. Resistance causes heat. Heat means problems; and inclusion of associated equipment for cooling etc.

Depending on the length of transmission line and the thickness of the conductor and the energy/current amount being transmitted, something like 10% to 20% of power is lost due to resistance.
This is just for transmission of power from station to another town.
When designing electronic circuits this discovery will open a whole new chapter. Wow!!

I want to see a system that is actively used in the field, not just an article or a result obtained on paper. An ecosystem on which a project is developed should be built around this claim so that we believe its claims are true. Because a few years ago, those who said they made superconductors working at room temperature had to withdraw their articles. It is not so easy to obtain reliable results.

Yeah, I'm also skeptical but there is a big discussion going on in various circles. If this is indeed true this will win Nobel Prize for sure. Currently, patent applications and papers stay.

An independent expert group from MIT flew to Korea to confirm the room temperature superconductor discovery claim. They are not officially tasked by MIT though. Their suspicion is that this is a new strong diamagnet instead of a superconductor. Anyway, we will learn the truth probably in a week.

This is not a superconductor in my opinion. Superconductors operating at liquid nitrogen temperature don't seem to react like that in a magnetic field. It is more likely to be a strong dimagnet.

On the other hand, even with a strong dimagnet, I'm sure it will find enough application. So they will get a lot for the money they spend on this research.
