I am curious, but how are the Gulf countries going to deal with this. They harbour US bases that was used to attack Iran. Are they going to suck it up for peace ?
US used the bases to attack Iran alongside the fighterjets.
Those refueling jets didn't fly back to US to reload fuel for the campaign.
So I am almost certain those Gulf countries will foot the bill and US will give something else in return. As I am certain US economy footing another bill for reconstruction of Iran would be very expensive.
You're not alone in your curiosity.
After all, this is the most important question for the entire Middle East.
It can be further clarified:
Will the US make Iran "great again," as Trump promised?

Or will they "destroy Iran as a civilization," as Trump promised?

Of course, the region is complex (I admit, architects labored for over two centuries, creating dozens of states on the site of just one – the Ottoman Empire), but that's understandable. But first, we need to understand Mr. Trump, and then the region. Trump is no less complex.

While the region hopes that some kind person from across the beautiful ocean will arrive on a huge aircraft carrier and solve all its problems, he won't solve them.
A "kind person" has absolutely no interest in solving other people's problems. Or rather, he's interested in the opposite: making them even more complicated! Even if he solves one minor problem, he will inevitably create two big ones right next to it. So they'll turn to him for "help" again.
After all, if he solves all the region's problems, no one here will need him anymore!
By the way, just a couple of hours after the bombing of Iran, Trump promised a "golden age" for the region🫢
Well, well!
