not even close. Almas atgm's operational range is 8km and it has fibre optics guidance with two way data link. there is even version 3 with 16km range
Fibre optics? What is this the 80s? I mean we probably have some TOWs and Milans left in our inventory but other than that we have Karaok for short range, Omtas for mid range and Umtas for long range. None of them use fibre optics, neither do any other modern ATGM.

Afaik fiber optic cables are deemed superior to fire-and-forget data links only for modern heavy torpedos launched from submarines.
I think SACLOS ATGMs like wire guided TOW can still have a place in the modern jammer/dazzler heavy battlefield. But, it presents too much of a threat to the operator. It can still work great in near peer conflict, and it's cheaper to build too.

With fiber optics, operators receive actual real-time visual feedback, enabling last-second adjustments to the missile's trajectory and improving accuracy. In contrast, RF signals are prone to interference and jamming. Additionally, RF signals are more easily detectable, allowing enemies to identify the source and potentially trace it back to the launch point. (collected)

Yeah, until now many tripod-launched ATGMs with longer range use wires. In future they'll cut them lose, costs of seekers+data links go down and as you said, wires make operating teams vulnerable to attacks.

With recent passive dual-band seekers you don't need last-second adjustments through fiber optic wires. Jamming is overrated, wasn't a problem for Akeron & likes in Ukraine.

if Jamming is overrated than we are seeing the use fiber optic guided fpv drones in Ukraine?

Because Russia shite at overcoming them and/or preventing it from happening in the first place?

Also, I wouldn't trust a single thing Iran claims about their military equipment, at all.
Iran getting the job done against the top dog in region with it's military equipment in the field. can't say the same about the other militaries in the region

Oh, okay. So you're not really worth taking seriously I got it now. Keep praising terrorists possibly getting 1 (one) missile through while Israel hits Iran's capital.

Fucking hell, of all the countries to simp for, you really chose Iran?

In light of the recent attacks by Israel against Iran, we are currently limited by our F-16's carrying capacities, which is the platform that offers the most in terms of munition weight and size. Israel used large stand-off ballistic missiles launched from their F-15s. I don't think F-16s and F-35s are capable of carrying those missiles. We expect to receive Kaan around 2028-29, equipped with two F110-GE-129 engines, similar to those on the F-15s. What new types of weaponry do you think will be developed exclusively for use by Kaan? For example we lack heavier bunker buster bombs currently.

As for deep bunker busting, if you don't have dedicated bomber fleet then you need to go South Korea's way. Something like Hyunmoo-V that carries a 4/5 tons warhead and can reach more than 50 meters deep underground. After all, a fighter can only carry so much.

Not necessarily. Here 4000 pound GBU-28 bunker buster bomb, that can be carried by F-15 but too heavy to be carried by an F-16.

They were launched from F-16s, F-15s were escorts armed with Aim-7s

Wouldn't the Anka 4 be Turkey's dedicated bomber before KAAN entered services?

Not likely. Even if so, won't Anka 4 use two TF-6000 engines? Something built with two non-afterburner TF-35000 engine would be in same category as B-21, which I assume is quite out of reach of Turkey's capacity now.

This thread is about Turkish Missiles and smart ammunition program s. When did it become about Iran? Please ignore off topic posts, report them and do not respond.
