Now Leonardo is offering the same gun for 5.1 million Euro including the training package and ammo.
Just to clarify things;
Leonardo has sold Compact version without any troubles but they didn't want to deliver Super Rapid which is capable of using guided munitions.
Later, they have offered Super Rapid version for a lower price than what was paid for Compact version + training munitions (munitions with telemetry, etc).
We should also note Turkish Compacts (or other leonardo cannons) use Aselsan's TAKS (Top atış kontrol sistemi) which calibrates each fire and ensures the maximum accuracy at each one.

All we need,in addition to this, is a production line for 76mm caliber of different munitions including SAPOMER.

Always the same. It feels like the west doesn't learn from past experiences and instead like to put its head into the sand and scream
"THE NEXT PROJECT WILL FAIL THE NEXT ONE WILL FAIL!!!" when the topic is Turkey.

How often have we now heard the same story? The Americans have gone through it the most. From Drones to Ammunition. You would like think Europe would learn from the mistakes the Americans committed and try to sidestep them.

Not only do they lose Turkey which is a huge market for most of these companies as it has one of the biggest Militaries in Europe but you also inevitably create a new competitor who doesn't play by your rules, who can offer its products cheaper at almost if not even at the same quality as yours.

Italy now has created a competitor in the 76mm market for itsself, and for what reason? Arrogance and Smugness nothing else.If this project is successfull, and why shouldn't it be. Turkey can now focus on developing guided munitions and after that fuck over Leonardo in dozens of markets by offering its product cheaper and with less strings attached.

They thought ADA would never exist. Now Turkey has build 4 for its own Navy and is exporting its to two other countries in major orders (4+ Ships per country) with new orders likely in the future. Not only that with Pakistan Turkey has proven it can work around demands of its customers. Alone this example should have been enough for them to realize the beast they have created by sanctioning even the most simple products.

Lets see how long it takes the americans to offer us the F-35/F-15 at a reduced price with goodies added to it once TF-X drives out of the hangar.

Or better yet for them to offer us SM-2 and ESSM Block 2 coupled with Mk41 once our own Surface-to-Air Missiles are integrated into the Istif-Class.

Always the same shit.

Italy
US
Germany

All countries that created an serious competitor all by their own just by underestimating Turkey and Turks. And now all of them will suffer in the markets for it in the near future, some more than others but every cent that goes to Turkish pockets will hurt them a thousand fold.

Meanwhile the Brits of all people are actually the ones taking the right steps in regards to Turkey with Cooperation.

Italy was really close to us back then, they were offering generous ToT, joint production, know-how delivery - only because they were in financial trouble and specifically the weapon industry was being affected.

Now they are blooming and getting plenty orders and trying to bash us. Still i won't be surprised if they eventually aid MKEK for guided munitions, 127mm and SR -like cannons in the behind, hidden behind the curtain for some monetary gain.

I can't recall if that ship's mast that wide but CENK-S to be slightly larger.
I think the designers of that model have made it on their own based on what they have seen in the market? also I am unsure if anybody else in market had access to CENK-S renders but STM when those concepts were being created.
%100 sure we will see I-Class' last form in IDEF.

Was there any other options?
Since ASELSAN produces some parts of Smart-S radars , i just guessed it would be analog of it. Also I read in somewhere on internet, some claiming CENK-S would be PESA radar.

Your question is right we shouldn't expect old gen radar from ASELSAN that has already a lot of AESA radar products.

Will be the one who is calibrating, assessing and "certifying" it on naval platforms moreover they are the one who sets specs and requirements, wonder.
In the end they will knock Tubitak's door for something, does anybody ever not?
De facto partner for electronics, TAKS, control interface.
What the hell Roketsan does with a gun?

It is 12 months for sake of having a peek and having a stroll around some naval base, come on we all know it. :)

Turkish built 76/62 mm gun, preparing to start firing tests soon.
Turkey was purchasing this gun from Leonardo for 8.2 million Euros. Due to embargoes implemented by EU countries it was decided to indigenously produce the same gun. Turkish project will be completed for approximately 4.7 million dollars.
Now Leonardo is offering the same gun for 5.1 million Euro including the training package and ammo.
Turkish gun. In it’s current form, is almost as good as the compact Oto Melara gun. But nowhere near as quick as the Super-Rapid version. The guided ammo with extended range that Oto Melara uses is another story. But these are development stages that will come in time.
The same story had occurred with JDAM production. When we couldn’t get enough quantities that we needed at 90+ thousand dollars each, we had started to produce our own HGK version at a cost of 27 thousand dollars. Following a successful firing, US came back and offered it to us for 25 thousand.

I hope they come up with unique design, with "Tufan" like barrel and "stealth" hull.

MKE have said that with the help of other government companies they have conducted the equivalent of 72 months of R&D work in just 12 months, that's 6 years shrunk into just 1 year. With more R&D I am sure they can come up with products that will catch up with the competition in no time. MKE needs a boost of management that will enable them to tap into sources of competent talent from the national and global workforce.

Analytics department is an good start where they can use various sources to find current and future requirements. They need to determine the areas they are as a company lacking and strategic areas Turkey is lacking. As a respond to that they need to open required R&D offices, departments and hire talent. They do have to sources to do it.

TTHB project might have evolved into a new stage, i won't be surprised if i see two genre of FACs while one of them is being the jumbo FAC, other one is in reasonable sizes.
Will they make us wait until IDEF to figure this out? We will see.
