My father spent more than three hours waiting to get on board, I should have tried harder to stop him from going to visit her the first day of her port call.

Did he manage to get on board at the end or not?

I came early so only waited in line 1 hour but line kept getting longer. Not too many people at once aboard the ship but it was a little disorganized, you could stay there all day if you wanted, once on upper deck groups kept getting split up. No restrictions about pictures etc. though that was nice

How was your experience aboard the ship? And did all the people manage to get in since I kept reading many reports and tweets on how the line reached 6 km long

He did but it was a long day for him and when he came back he standed in yet another line for two hours to get food for iftar in Üsküdar. He was exhausted at the end of the day and was silent but he was happy as he had joined his two sons and a grandson to have dinner on the lawn watching the Kızkulesi, the TCG Anadolu, the sunset on the historical city joined by the head of state at another end of the dining gathering.

Cadets were guiding the visitor groups.

I doubt this, the talks were more about ToT for production of Milden (as the similar took place with Spain). Despite of all the experience gained from 214 and 209 there is a need for technology and know-how gain for submarine in class of Milden.

To further your envisaged a sea conscious people I can think of nothing else but a sail training ship!

Mainly registered in active service lists of major navies around the world, they not only serve to increase the seamanship skills of young cadets of respective navies but also serve to “popularize sailing” and love of sea among the youth of a nation.

It must also be added that they are vessels of national prestige and bonding good relations and cementing the existing ones further.

Be it an aircraft carrier or an elegant three mast ship, a naval vessel is always capable of carrying a huge diplomatic relation mission, both hostile and friendly.

It is now clear that there are exploratory discussions in Rolls Royce's areas of activity, ranging from energy to military propulsion systems, and it may be even more advanced at one of them and the scope and technical details of the deal are being worked out. Presumably, these talks on submarine cooperation may also cover propulsion systems. The problems with Germany are well known. R&R could jackpot.

For the Milden project I think. Unless they're thinking of something like a nuclear submarine in the medium-long term.I wonder what they can offer us as subsystems that we would like to obtain from the Germans under normal circumstances.

Its not allowed for us to use nuclear tech for military stuffs.

IMO an unmanned submarine is quite possible if the concept of use is correctly defined.

If we set them up as mobile data centers that install & collect a large number of micro-sonars in the sea and collect and process data from them, I think they can be very, very useful.

Since it takes a long time maybe it's not wrong to look ahead. Now we don't need a carrier and it seems like a waste of resources but in the 2030's we will have a bigger Air force, economy and a population which will go into the direction of 100 million people.

I think Turkey will be an important player in Asia and Europe if we don't start procurement now, maybe we will wish we did so in 10 years

Now Turkish navy needs IMO all resources for AAW destroyers, heavy multipurpose frigates, domestic SSK, unmanned surface and submarine vehicles. And the smartest advance planning is to fix the economy for a solid financial base in the 30s to acquire expensive assets like ACs.

TCG Anadolu will set sail from Sarayburnu towards the Black Sea from 09.00 on 23 April. She will sail to the Black Sea by greeting the European and Asian sides.
