Not bad, I guess.
Targeting the young people.

I have a bad feeling about this. I find that they are trying to prolong the presidential term to 7 years to be extremely fishy. it means that they know that Kılıçdaroğlu will not be popular and that they are trying to seize power and find a way to prolong being kicked out.

the anti-corruption thing sounds good on paper, but in practice, it will probably be used the purge Turkish society in fact, a lot of the things they state seem to be a nice way of saying that they are planning on purging everyone and installing their own men into positions.

How are they going to deal with brain drain while making it easier for people to leave the country?

Defense Industry

Move our defense industry to a much higher point, reduce the dependence of our country on defense industry, create an ecosystem that will lead the development of advanced dual-use industrial technologies, increase the operational power and deterrent of our armed forces, and develop high-value exports.

End political appointments and nepotism practices in public institutions and organizations related to the defense industry and ensure that these institutions and organizations work based on merit and expertise.

Consolidate the powers and responsibilities of the defense industry in the Defense Industry Presidency, creating a structure that is transparent, accountable and free of political influence.

Ensure that the Force Commanders also participate in the Defense Industry Executive Committee.

Create mechanisms to create synergy, cooperation, and coordination between the Defense Industry Presidency and other institutions, organizations, and foundation companies and private companies operating in the defense industry sector.

Open the way for the private sector in the defense industry and ensure fair competition.

Ensure the participation of the private sector in defense industry tenders through simplified bureaucratic processes, free of favoritism and classification as close/distant to the government, and apply the same principles in the audits.

Share the annual requirements projections of our armed forces and security forces with the private sector, opening the way for defense industry companies, especially SMEs, to make future-oriented investments, creating an ecosystem that supports, develops and grows each other, both at the main system and sub-system levels.

Restructure the Turkish Armed Forces Strengthening Foundation and its affiliated companies, free the management of the Foundation from political influences and share the use of its resources transparently with the public.

We will ensure that foundation companies operating in the defense industry work within the framework of principles that are transparent to assessment of accountability, measurable performance and efficiency, based on merit-based, strategic, and professional management.

We will eliminate the disadvantages arising from the mostly single-sourced procurement of foundation companies and support the development of future technologies with projects and incentives in which small and medium-sized enterprises can also participate.

We will restructure MKEK, eliminate dependence on foreign sources for explosives, conventional weapons, and essentials.

We will manage large procurement projects in a manner that does not disrupt the force structure and planning, in line with the country's foreign policy and the specific security environment and needs.

We will create a separate and special budget for the practical implementation and full localization of projects such as the National Combat Aircraft, Jet Training Aircraft, Altay Tank, TF 2000 Frigate, 4G and 5G base stations and network infrastructure, military surveillance and communication satellites, and similar projects, which have constantly postponed development schedules, and will allocate the necessary expert personnel.

We will complete the engine procurement process for the Altay Tank and start domestic engine work, which is greatly needed in air, land and sea platforms, and continue and succeed in domestic aircraft and tank projects with a great mobilization.

We will accelerate Turkey's satellite development and launch efforts, integrate civil and military satellite programs, prioritize the localization of critical technologies in this area, and increase the localization rate to above 50%.

Within 10 years, we will truly increase the currently low localization rate in the defense industry to 80%.

With consolidation, strategic procurement, mergers, venture capital investment, and effective planning, and with the active support of the private sector, we will transform ASELSAN, TAI, MKE, Roketsan, TEI, and HAVELSAN into global companies.

We will establish the Defense Industry Industrial Design and Production Center to produce all materials and inputs used in the defense industry, including next-generation materials, locally.

We will prevent direct imports from abroad under the guise of emergency needs and base the supply of systems that do not impose any usage limits.

In case of imports from abroad, we will open the way for the use of our balance in offset applications of the resources that leave the country, especially in defense-themed entrepreneurship funds.

We will prioritize the development of advanced capabilities such as nanotechnology, biotechnology, and robotics systems in new ventures and university projects, in addition to conventional weapons systems, in order to respond to future security needs.

We will increase resources allocated to R&D and venture capital in defense industry and support R&D efforts by the private sector.

We will create a widespread incubation environment for innovative products and actively support individuals and organizations in this regard.

We will not privatize military factories that compromise critical capabilities and services in the national interest and security, and carry out privatizations in suitable areas in accordance with national participation, free competition, and public procurement regulations.

We will cancel the allocation process of the Sakarya Tank Pallet Factory to quickly implement existing and new projects within the legal framework.

In coordination with the Ministry of National Defense, the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and the Ministry of National Education, we will ensure that our researchers who have completed their education abroad add value to our local defense industry as R&D and innovation specialists.

We will reverse the brain drain from our defense industry by recovering our engineers and technical teams who work in foreign companies due to incorrect policies and practices, develop and implement the Defense Industry Brain Drain Action Plan.
A lot of these things are already happening, and what do they mean be "reduce the dependence of our country on defense industry"?

It's 7 years but one can be elected just once. And they promised is that they will changed the presidential system back to parliamentarian system where president will have less power. Currently, it's one strong man like a dictator ship.
purging everyone and installing their own men into positions.
Currently, there are a lot of position filled by just you know someone in higher position such as bilal's high school friends, these people don't deserve it and must be removed.

How are they going to deal with brain drain while making it easier for people to leave the country?
By not making country a place where people don't want to live?

Full list of promises made by the Nation Alliance (108 items). Quite impressive.

Although I wish Özdağ and Victory Party could win, it's impossible. But his impact on this list is visible. Also although he always criticises the Nation Alliance, he says that right now they are the only hope. He is right. If AKP wins again what will happen to 13 million refugees? They will double in 5 years. There is no other choice. I just hope they end up choosing a good candidate.

Some important promises made in the list include:
  • The era of selling citizenship for money will end
  • Migrants will be sent back
  • Military highschools and war academies will be reopened
  • Organization of Turkic States will be strengthened
  • Turkish rights in the Aegean will be protected (blue homeland)
  • Critical military institutions will never be privatised
  • All kinds of support will be given to key defence industry companies such as TAI, MKE, Aselsan, Havelsan.
  • The way will be paved for private defence companies to thrive and compete
  • The President will not have an affiliation to a party, and after his or her 7 year term, he or she will be banned from politics.
  • Turkish Cyprus, Azerbaijan and East Mediterranean policies and posture will be further strengthened.
These are just a few that stood out to me. This is good, really good.

The parliamentarian system isn't good in turkey the chaotic and unstable coalition of politics was one of the main reasons nobody wanted to invest in turkey before the AK party came along and started to dominate Turkish politics.

From my understanding of the Turkish parliamentary system, it appears that the politicians are not elected. Instead, the party delegates a seat in the parliament, thus creating a system in which no one is held accountable. This system is actually much less democratic them the presidential system since, at least with the presidential system, you get to choose your leader, thus creating some type of accountability.

To me, it seems that the desire to change the system is to create a system in which the parliamentarians are not accountable to the public, thus allowing party leaders to maintain a dictatorship from within the party and keep their cronies.

Here is a breakdown of the terrible System that is used for Turkey's parliament he states to explain the problem Turkey faces with the system around 11:54. the video itself isn't about Turkey but rather the system Turkey uses since it is the root cause of cronyism in Turkey.

There are only two ways forward for Turkey: get rid of party-list proportional representation, which isn't going to happen as the established party heads like the crony system and hate accountability. The second way forward is reforming the presidential system to have clear checks and balances, thus maintaining accountability.

Let's be real the cronies of the AK party are just going to be replaced by the cronies of the CHP.

Yeah, and he was one of the competent ones in his old party.

Regardless, its save to say that the conspiracy theories about the Opposition killing the defence industry are nothing but conspiracy theories. Not that its going to stop conspiracy theorists from spreading BS, its what they do afterall.

Always parroting the same sentence, saying "We will come in one night.", "We will come in one night" .. And fate has brought us to the point we pleaded for "them to come in one night".

I honestly believe that the opposition will never allow AKP to delay the elections. It is the golden chance and with the earthquake and the fake news circulating here and there, the public opinion against the AKP is sooo high that it is high time the table of 6 ride this free wave

Translation
According to the constitution, the government has no right to postpone the election under any circumstances, including this great earthquake, due to earthquake, state of emergency or any other reason. — Bahadır Erdem, Deputy Chairman of the IYI Party

Delaying the elections is against the constitution but we have a ruling party that can stoop so low that those in charge can even use the earthquake as a tool to cling to power and extend their term.

ARTICLE 5 - (1) In case the Grand National Assembly of Turkey decides that it is not possible to hold new elections due to war, the Presidential election shall be postponed for one year.

(2) If the reason for postponement has not disappeared, this procedure may be repeated according to the procedure in the postponement decision.

Elections can't be delayed for any reason other than war.

Politics at the end of the day is politics
No matter how many aid certain states give; deep inside they gradually show their true nature. Countries like China, US, and even Russia will never change their idea about Turkey which is..... a pain in the asss

Rather than talking about the sad status of the victims, the first question is whether Erdogan will postpone the questions. I must admit that it seems that Erdogan is giving the greeks a lot of nightmares

And this is coming from a nation that couldnt even stop a forest fire not even half the size that Turkey experienced during the last year

I think you can organize temporary tents and places to vote.
And allow people that have taken refuge in other cities to vote there.
Or postal vote.

If there's a will, there's a way.

no, we will hear the next thing. Votes are stolen...

As long as we never hear about cats bringing the entire system down.

A cat that entered a power distribution unit – and presumably was electrocuted – was the cause of controversial power blackouts during the vote-counting process after the March 30 local elections, Energy Minister Taner Yıldız has said.

“I’m not joking, my friends. A cat entered a power distribution unit. It was the cause of the blackout [in Ankara] and it’s not the first time that it has happened. It is wrong to link it with the elections. It’s wrong to cry ‘foul play,’” Yıldız said while answering journalists’ questions in Ankara.
