The Block 1 engine in the KAAN is the F110, manufactured by General Electric, which is also used in F-16s. On the other hand, the HÜRJET, for which TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries) conducts test flights, uses General Electric's F404 engines.
Will there be permission for these engines? I asked this question to GE officials at the opening of General Electric Aerospace's design center in Istanbul today.
GE officials noted that the permit is on its way to the Senate. GE is closely monitoring the situation to ensure the process proceeds smoothly. Another important advantage in this regard is the approval of the F-16 sale to Turkey. This step is considered to potentially ease the way for obtaining permission for the engines.

Even after the engine enters service, development on the engine won't stop, so I'm sure the efficiency will improve over time.I have a feeling that they don't give a f*ck about the efficiency of the engine, because they are literally rushing it, which is understandable and important. In civil aviation, even one hundredths matters. For example MTU had to shut down one of their engine programs, because its efficiency was two hundreths worse than the competition.
But that is a different story since TF35K will be sold with the platform or to countries, which aren't able to buy american/european engines.

It depends what exactly you mean with efficiency. In this case, efficiency and reliability matters a lot, especially for an army like TSK who doesn't accept half finished products. The same happened with Russian SU-57. The reason why we don't see SU-57 entering into mass production was due to unfinished engine, with AL51-F1, they kind of achieved the requirements, hence the project starting to speed up.the efficiency doesn't matter much.

There is only 1 exception where Turkey can throw out the efficiency and reliability problems from window, if they fail to buy American Engines for block 1/2 of Kaan, they will be out of many options. If American engines are out of the window, there are only 2 capable engines where Turkey may look, South Korea and Chinese WS engines, which i personally think they will not choose to go with Chinese engines.
Kızılelma and Anka-3 is planned to use TF-6000 (TF-10000) engine when that engine is ready.I've asked this before, and we had a long and good discussion about it, but I'm just going to ask again.
Which UAV or platform is being powered by TF6000. All I see if people hyping over what's going to be, but there are many people like me who're wondering, if this is a propulsion system, shouldn't it be stuck on something to fly around and show the people it works as intended. It's not a small piece of something larger like a cog.
