Our @beijingwalker wumao friend tries to act diplomatic and fair in our forum while spewing bull shit and insults in the Pakistani Defense forum 24/7. Just ban this guy already...

From that thread, I share the sentiment of gambit and @Vergennes w.r.t "The way these <CN troll> guys debate, it is like talking to a bunch of 12 yrs old."

LMAO....

If Russia unleash their full might in Ukraine, we wouldn't find anything still standing by now. it's a military action intened to bring Ukrainian government to accept terms in Russia's favor, that's it, high casualties and large city wide destruction is the last thing in Russian's mind. they just pick some targets to attack to make their point. I agree their hesitation , indecisiveness, not so clearly defined goals cost Russia more than expected.
bla bla bla bla, Russian military are worthless and we know that in the 25 days of war in Ukraine already

My bet will definitely be on Russia, Japan won't stand a chance against Russia by itself, that's why Russian heavy bombers regularly make whole circle of Japan like its Russia's house backyard while Japan dares to do nothing about it.

Actually the US has the SM-6 which is capable to stop hypersonic weapons. While I know chance the US will deploy SM-6 to Ukraine is next to impossible, Kinzahl has only been introduced late 2017 so I question how much stockpile Russia has to employ in Ukraine. It's not a big deal of a weapon if Russia doesn't have much of it anyway.

Japan has SM-6 too it seems.

The Kinzahl is just an overhyped air launched version of the Iskander.

The Japanese would not find it hard to intercept those type of munitions.

This is a stupid argument, but stupid has been your share in all trades.

USAF, USN, and even Australian spy planes regularly flies close to Chinese shores and yet China dare not to do anything about but watch and cry on global times

While I found your perspective on Russia's invasion (doctrin) of Ukraine interesting. I have difficulty understanding how the scenario we're seeing played before us through different media support your assesment.

As I see it Russia is doing everything they can to try get Mariupol and they'll likely stop once they've connected Crim-Mariupol-Donbas region.

I hope they won't succeed and Russia will be forced to draw back to pre-invasion "borders", they'd be stuck with spending lots of money to send necessary supplies to Crim and the sanctions should pretty much turn Russia to a Chinese colony of sorts.

Russians dont mind if they take heavy casualties because what matters is winning and taking it all.

Japan spots Russian amphibious ships traveling between its islands

By Mike Yeo
Tuesday, Mar 22

MELBOURNE, Australia — Japan says Russian amphibious ships transiting through a narrow strait between its islands could be moving fresh forces from Russia’s far east to Ukraine.

Four landing ship tanks, including one with its deck full of military trucks, were seen sailing in the Pacific Ocean westbound in the middle of last week, according to a news release from the Joint Staff’s Public Affairs office within Japan’s Defense Ministry.

The hull numbers on the Russian ships, shown in photographs released by Japan, suggests the ships were the Alligator IV-class Nikolay Vilkov; the Ropucha I-class Oslyabya and Admiral Nevelskov; and the Ropucha II-class Peresvet. All four belong to the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet and make up the entirety of its major amphibious units.

The ships were traveling in two groups. One was comprised of Nikolay Vilkov and Oslyabya, first seen heading west in the evening of March 15, 70 kilometers (38 nautical miles) northeast of Cape Shiryazaki on the northern tip of Japan’s main island of Honshu.

Photos released by the ministry showed the top deck of the Nikolay Vilkov packed with at least 17 military trucks. All four ships also have internal holds capable of carrying various cargo or troops.

The Admiral Nevelskov and Peresvet were then detected by Japan on the morning of March 16, 220 kilometers northeast of Cape Shiryazaki.

The ships then proceeded through the narrow Tsugaru Strait, which separates Honshu from Japan’s northern main island of Hokkaido. The vessels were watched from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force’s destroyer JS Shiranui and P-3C maritime patrol aircraft.

Japanese media reported the ministry believes the ships were bringing additional units from Russia’s far east to shore up its forces involved in the invasion of Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Defence Ministry backed up this claim, saying March 18 that the Russian 155th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade, based in the port city of Vladivostok, and the 40th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade, out of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, were heading west to “make up for the losses” suffered in Ukraine.

Both naval infantry units are assigned to the Russian military’s Eastern Military District.

The route taken by the Russian ships appears to suggest they were heading from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky in Russia’s Kamchakta Peninsula to Vladivostok, where they will most likely be loaded onto westbound trains if they are indeed bound for Ukraine.

Japan has designated the Tsugaru Strait an international waterway, allowing foreign ships to transit through it. The country claims territorial waters in the strait that extend 3 nautical miles from its coast, significantly less than the maximum of 12 nautical miles allowed under international law.

This is a very stupid argument. Chinese shores are open for global navigation, Chinese naval ships also travel near US shore, it's common practice, but I don't remember any foreign airplanes circle around whole China regularly.

Judging by the performance in Ukraine the Japanese would make sashimi out of Russians in a matter of days if not hours.
Japan is no match for Russia militarily, anyone who denies this obvious fact knows they are lying.

Japan has 42 active 5th gen fighters, Russia has none.

Japan's navy are the best in Asia with BMD capable AEGIS destroyer. Russia doesn't even have BMD capable ship.

Japan's submarine are world class with AIP and Li-Ion equipped sub, Russia doesn't even have operational AIP submarine.

But yeah fanboys wouldn't accept.

There's nothing wrong with circling anything. The US regularly send their bombers near China and Russia.

But it's funny to think that Russia is military superior to Japan just because they could navigate their bombers around Japan.

But again the word "think" are alien to you as usual:ROFLMAO:

Quite often. And increasing in tempo too

Discounting nukes. Japan is militarily superior than Russia. Especially in the air and naval domain. Not only superior by weapons metrics but superior in manning too.

JMSDF for example regularly send patrols far away from home. Unlike the Russians. Their submarine crew are considered world best and lauded even by the US navy in underwater warfare.

Is there any Russian ship that is close in sophistication as Japan's Maya class DDG or Li-ion powered Taigei class submarine?

The recent Russian military disaster against Ukraine means that it would have even more trouble facing the Japanese or the Americans

Again makes me wonder why the concept of " think" doesn't matter much to you :p

Why Japan is always on defensive against Russia if their military might is really as superior as what you claim to be? This simple fact speaks everything.

They're not even at war. What do you want them to do ? start shooting ? start wailing and crying in global times ?
