"At the last point, we added Multi Static radar and Metamaterial Radar to our radar roadmap. We implement hybrid architectures modularly in phased array radar design.

We are working on deep learning techniques that will take classification algorithms to the next level using Micro-Doppler.

Considering the entire operational field, the points we see are impossible if there is no mobile distributed systems and cognitive algorithms.

Considering a distributed radar network, synchronization, robust communication, data fusion and GPS independent positioning are sub-systems that we have successfully implemented.

Based on the needs of the navy, the Mobile Coastal Surveillance System (MSGS) is a practical and mobile solution. S band and pulse radar. I think it's an important step forward in the concept of coastal surveillance of the future.
Speaking of coastal surveillance, we can't forget to mention our surface wave high frequency (YDYFR) radar. Our surface wave radar in the HF band is a solution that offers advantages for the detection of off-horizon naval targets and will meet an important need of the navy.

Of course, we also develop software and algorithms, large and small, for our stakeholders. All of them are important works, but recently we have taken one more step and started ambitious developments. One of them is the Multi Static Radar development project.

We will achieve an important strategic advantage, especially with the trial of the concept and the demonstration of its success.

Targets that are difficult to detect with mono-static radar with reduced RCA are vulnerable to multi-static radars.

This will give a serious advantage. Our internal project, in which we developed the building blocks and architectures of phased array radars, is very ambitious.

Our goal is a mobile radar prototype with active electronic scanning to be developed in a modular and adaptive manner.

It will be a study that our stakeholders can benefit from. This year, we are launching our UAV Fingerprint and Threat Analysis Laboratory (UAV PITAL), which will carry out basic studies especially against the UAV threat. We continue to work on projects in many other areas. Metamaterial radar and Quantum radar are a few of them."

Information note

Metamaterial Antennas, one of the innovative phased array radar technologies, are one of the most surprising developments in recent times. In this new technology, which is also being studied in BİLGEM in our country, analog phase delay structures are miniaturized and lined up on the antenna and produced as an antenna plate.

The September 2022 issue of Tübitak BİLGEM's technology magazine is completely devoted to radars. Those who are interested in pure technical issues can review the magazine. I just shared a few news that I consider important.

Mr. Ismail Demir said that a detailed explanation, maybe demonstration of the GaN AESA radar, as well as the roadmap for expansion of Ozgur project with new capabilities will be announced in a few weeks.

Air to air combat finally will turn to surveillence by IR ,every state get stealth aircraft soon or later.You can not see this aircrafts by x band radars but with high defination flirs.Aselsan aselpod 2 with 1.2x1 medium wave IR sensor almost equel to sniper 5th gen.Even you can search and track 4-4.5 generation fighters with aesa radar,you can not identify it but aselpod do the jop who it is.You can suppress x band aesa radar by ew but you can not apply any counter meauseres to infrared flirs

The range of Infrared FLiR is limited no?

Even though, the active detection against newer 4.5 gen like GRIPEN E and RAFALE F4 is risky. but you can identify the target using IFF without FLIR.

and how do you gonna suppress an X band AESA FCR without putting yourself at immense risk ?

Here an f35s old EOTS looking at individual windows form 90km away.


newer f35s are having a new gen EOTS.

Yes, but in clouds etc. it goes down to around 30km for detection.
unlike MWIR, LWIR can detect trough cloud much better up to 50km. new EOTS has a LWIR.

A single company should produce seeker. All work should be given to whoever did the best. Those who are dealing with that job in the other company should be transferred to that company.

Energy, time and money are wasted. SSB is still unable to do its job of guiding and organizing.
First, the sensor issue is a very strategic and important area. For this reason, the more companies work on sensors and produce products with different features, this is a great gain.

That is, there are many countries in the world that make airplane bombs, it is easy to produce this bomb. but it is very difficult to develop a guidance and sensor system that will deliver this bomb to the target in the best and safest way under desired conditions.

In addition, every new type of sensor produced, together with its ammunition, means a lot of sales and profits.

Second, ssb works with at least 2 manufacturers or developers in one domain. This is a necessary and redundant style.

SSB is an institution that does its job well.

Akıncı will %100 have it this year. Baykar and Aselsan cooperated in the design stage of this AESA radar so I don't see any problems integrating this into Akıncı. F-16 Block 30 Özgür will get it next year. The product looks way better and more mature than I expected. Next stop Gökdoğan test launch using Aselsan AESA.

Will Kızılelma use the same radar as F-16 or use the same with Akıncı?

Can Akinci provide enough power for the radar ? And regarding cooling system ?
