According to the information received from Azerbaijani sources, the systems successfully served in the anti-terrorist operation carried out by Azerbaijan in Karabakh. İLTER J250 and İLTER HP successfully detected and intercepted different types of drones belonging to various countries used by Armenian forces during the anti-terrorist operation. Thus, both Armenian elements were deprived of reconnaissance-surveillance activities on the front line and the life safety of Azerbaijani soldiers was ensured.

150 is a good number, cameras like CATS are an expensive products. The first Aselflir-500 will enter the inventory soon. Aselflir-500 tests have gone really smoothly up to now. CATS had a bumpy ride but the experience gained from the CATS project really showed its value for the Aselflir-500 project.

Mechanical integration of Murad AESA was completed earlier this year for Akıncı. After feedback and lessons learned from the integration modifications on both Akıncı and the Murad radar were made. Software integration has been completed recently. Now everything is ready for the first flight. MURAD will fly with both Akıncı and F-16 soon. No news about Kızılelma integration.

It is simple inferior to analog systems, and Analog night vision is one the biggest deficiency of our armed forces which we need to address asap. Both Motion sickness of screens and millisecond delays are huge disadvantages of Digital night vision tech. A few millisecond is the difference between life and death in battlefield.

Great news! We now have a FLIR (Forward looking Infra Red) system to fit in to our helicopters and UAVs that will obviate the need to import these without having to worry about their like for like performance levels.

Of course being a FLIR it needs to operate in comparatively clear weather conditions; quite often, under cloud situations. Hence bringing the platform in to range of air defence systems and more importantly possibly in to range of modern man pads.

We should remember that Turkish defence industry has also developed a “Moving Target Indication Synthetic Aperture Radar” through Meteksan Company called MILSAR SAR-MTI. This radar system can identify targets over 150km range and has a weapon targeting range of 27km. it can operate over clouds in any weather condition, drawing a picture of terrain and identifying fast moving and stationary targets , even differentiating between military and civilian personnel through the algorithms it uses.
