Aselsan- KAVAL : “There are good developments. We started to put our uncooled national detectors in our products. Prototypes of cooled detectors for cameras are starting to emerge at the laboratory level.”

ARMERKOM Noise Radar

4 November 2021

Noise Radar is a new generation radar type that uses random noise signals as the main broadcast waveform, is naturally low in detection (YOD), resistant to deception and jamming, and provides electromagnetic maneuver superiority to its user without being subject to sharing pressure in the radar frequency spectrum.

Noise radar, by its nature, falls into the category of radar that is less likely to be detected. These radars cannot be detected by methods using conventional Electronic Support (ED) receivers. One of the reasons for the investment and increasing research on noise radar technology in recent years is that although these radars are actively working, their probability of being detected and identified by the adversary is very low. In addition to this feature, they are difficult to mix. In the near future, it is foreseen that noise radars, especially YOD, will be included in the military operation area. Noise radar has not yet been operationally put into commercial or military use.
Naval Forces Research Center Command (ARMERKOM) started its noise radar development activities in 2016 and the first prototype system was developed in 2020. It is aimed that the prototype noise radar system will be improved gradually and turned into a product with a high technological readiness level in the domestic defense industry in the coming years with national possibilities.

"Directed Infrared Countermeasure" system infrastructure from TAI to A400M

Turkish Aerospace Industries has added a new capability in the structural field to its structure in the A400M program. Turkish Aerospace Industries, integrating the structural parts of the "Directed Infrared Countermeasure" (DIRCM) system, which was applied for the first time to the MSN 105 tail numbered aircraft of the A400M in November 2021, will be able to detect incoming missiles via a missile warning unit thanks to the system. missiles directed to the A400M aircraft, even from hand-held air defense systems, can be destroyed.

Together with Airbus Defense and Space, of which it is a partner of more than 5%, for the first time in the A400M aircraft program, it has passed from "Picture-to-Manufacturing", that is, production technology with ready design data, to the process of "From Design to Production", that is, the creation of design data by Turkish Aerospace Industries.

Turkish Aerospace Industries manages the production and delivery processes of 405 detail and sub-assembly parts for the DIRCM Project. The system, which provides 360-degree protection to the aircraft with the DIRCM hardware to be integrated, will be able to detect multiple missiles at the same time with its multi-target capability.

A400M is now safer

Currently in the A400 M program, the design and execution of the front-mid fuselage, tail cone and rear fuselage upper panel, fins / speed brakes, parachutist & emergency exit doors, final assembly line management/support, as well as all fuselage wiring, lighting and water/waste systems Turkish Aerospace Industries, which has also undertaken the first degree design and supply responsibility of the manufacturing, all interior and exterior lighting systems, waste/clean water systems except the cockpit, DIRCM structural design and analysis, equipment assembly design, retrofit solution design, detail part production , assembly and a total of 2 km of new cable manufacturing for each aircraft has also included the work package.

Sharing his views on the integrated "Directed Infrared Countermeasure" project, Turkish Aerospace Industries General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil said, “We continue to contribute to the aviation capabilities of our country by integrating the infrastructure of a new generation technology into the A400M aircraft for the first time. We continue our flawless production and delivery processes in the A400M program, which is among the largest aircraft in the world. I congratulate my colleagues who contributed.” said.

Turkish Aerospace Industries, which has a business share of more than 7 percent in the A400M program, has produced a total of 135 aircraft sets in the project, which includes 176 A400M aircraft, and has shipped them to Airbus Defense and Space.

ARDA (2024) Radar looks to be similar to SAAB Sea Giraffe 1x

Could be for Turkish-type FAC
That should be what once called X-DAR. Nice to see it has received a codename.

2024 also indicates it could be Mar-D NG for AKDGs and others.

This map also shows the Alper LPI radar for Milden in past 2030, from the size and appearance we may expect it to be based on the noise radar that is under development by Armerkom. A great capability for silent submarine operations and surface monitoring.

Correction. The aforementioned DIRCM integration was carried out for A-400Ms belonging to the German Air Force, not the Turkish Air Force.

Does ASELSAN produce the GaN and GaAs T/R modules in-house? If not which company provides them? There's old news about AB-MikroNano, the company that aims to provide GaN modules but I couldn't find a recent, concrete info anywhere. They don't even have a website. I don't know if they're active or not. Can someone who knows about it inform us?

Why do people keep asking that? We answered that multiple times in the past.
