Within the scope of the National Combat Aircraft program, 2022 activities were carried out successfully within the scope of the development of an integrated communication, navigation and recognition identification system (ICNI) and the development of a helmet integrated imaging system (HMD).
In the ICNI project, the navigation systems developed by ASELSAN will be used in an integrated manner in the national combat aircraft. The helmet-mounted display system of ASELSAN-TULGAR, which is the eye of pilots and owned by few countries in the world, which is being developed within the scope of the HMD project, will be developed nationally.

In the ICNI project, the preliminary design of all functions has been completed and a prototype unit has been developed in accordance with the IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics) architecture for the functional tests of Basic Block-0 functions.

In 2022, the development of the TOYGUN product family, an electro-optical sensor and targeting system that will be integrated into the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) and KIZILELMA platforms, continued in 2022. With the TOYGUN product family, ASELSAN will be one of the few companies to develop integrated electro-optical systems required for low radar cross-sectional area in fifth generation warplanes and new generation unmanned combat systems.

The development of the KARAT infrared search and tracking system product family, which makes it difficult to detect and provides passive detection in manned and unmanned warplanes, continues.

Guys, it seems like for weeks you are arguing about unnecessary and trivial stuff like landing gears and external looks of the plane, but let's not forget this is GTU-0 and also remember that critical designing phase is not complete.

Although the shape of the MMU will probably not change by much, how the plane looks in detail will be very different between GTU-0 and the first CDR representatice prototype to be rolled out in 2025. We all know that GTU-0 wasn't even meant to fly before TUSAS insisted on doing so. Of course several things will seem off.

Also, as others have said, GTU-0 is not a mock-up. It's a functioning aircraft that, according to TUSAS can fly. I've got no reasons to not believe what TUSAS is saying regarding the GTU-0. No, it can't fulfill any tactical missions but that's not the point of this specific aircraft in the first place. Comparing GTU-0 to production F-22 or F-35, or even KF-21 prototypes and to argue MMU is flawed is absolutely pointless.
As Turks we are always like that, we always want the best and the most perfect. :sneaky: 😋

Agree, the plane looks rough and unfinished now with many small details still missing, just because its gonna fly soon doesnt mean its near completion by any means, this plane still has a decade of development in sight maybe even longer.
As time passes it will look different even if the shape stays same because details are what makes the most impact on appearance.

Just imagine it has no make-up yet, we all know what a difference it can make. 😁

I wonder if it can be integrated onto Hürjet LCA. Since Hürjet only has one hardpoint under the fuselage, an integrated EOTS system would give it the capabilities of a targeting pod while freezing up a hardpoint for the fuel tank.
I don't think her internals are quite suited for such a system.

Congrats my friends! It‘s not the most beautiful prototype (as I thought it would look) but the most Turkish state-of-the-art fighter jet.

Impressive production quality and development progress. Still full of unexpected twists and rapid schedule changes and unorthodox methods of you crazy Turks 😁

Can’t wait for the successful maiden flight this year! Fighting ✊

From July 19th 2022 to end of 2023 would be like 17 months between first flights of KFX and TFX.
