Let's definitely forget the TurAF technicians who can dismount and mount engines of F-16, with 40 years old tools, -exaggarating- blindfoldedly. They have enabled both TAI and Baykar to understand how and engine is installed, mounted, integrated. Anonymous heroes of Turkish aviation industry.

A significant number of Turkish pilots at Turkish airlines are former air force pilots. Even, the old wolves are usually in cargo operations. Yes, a slip tongue, but ironically a true proposition, if you give them any fighter jet...With my apologies
Temel Kotil: "Turkish Airlines planes do dogfight with Greek planes".
Temel Kotil comes from Turkish Airlines background.
Exactly, TF-X is the start not the end.The best thing about this projects is the BRIGHT FUTURE When we finish these projects all those experience and high self-esteem for the young but gifted engineers will take us to the stars 6th gen 7th gen extraordinary things space projects etc. Limit will be the sky and political support to be honest. There's always a threat waiting in the shadows unfortunately so as overall Turkish citizens this will be our own exam to keep them going without any attempt to ruin everything.
I agree, but mate there are Factors -> all people involved in project -> Turks which are Motivated -> those people which make the most strategic project become REAL/TRUE. We are in GOLDEN STAGE (WARP SPEED). You can call it what ever you like but those people making things faster not because Politicians or Managers Want to.That's crazy. Hopefully they're not doing it for politics.
Aceleye gerek yok, düzgün yapılsın yeter
"Temel Kotil announced the good news! When will the National Combat Aircraft fly? "Crazy UAV" is coming!"
Kotil explaining why TFX is ready to fly earlier than expected.
looks like Kf21will have gun , any news if TFX will have one ? I dont see any place to mount any gun at this tfx prototype .I think if we name the TF-X some variation of "eagle" or another bird of prey, it will be a nice bookend to the XF-2X "family" of western-philosophy 4.5-5th Gen fighters: "Young Hawk" (Boramae), "Raptor", "Eagle" (Kartal).
Mate There are SAYING which is also DAMN TRUE. "No adventure NO Gain"I have a bit the feeling that all first flights are pushed this hard to be used as elections material, hope everything will go without accidents.
On the other hand I am proud like a gorilla
Europe has yet to start:
- Eurodrone
- FCAS
- Tempest
I think we Turks experience luxury sickness right now
Great news that TFX will fly at end of 2023 but the problem is its engines .
With this speed TFX can enter full production at early 2025 with f16 engines .
But will US sell its engines for mass produced TFX ? thats the question .
2025-2028 Turkey can produce some 50 TFX ( with f16 engines ) than 250 TFX with National more powerful engines between 2028- 2036 .
"But will US sell its engines for mass produced TFX?" They WILL NOT.
I bet TEI can already make a better engine today. We just need to see the TF6000 engine flying to be sure.Thinking out of the box, how hard will it be for TEI to reverse engineer the F110? The engine is by now 40+ year old in design, I do not think it still has property rights anymore.
Either the US sell them, or reverse engineer it. For a limited number it is probably better to buy, but if needed....
It is being dismantled in factory level maintenance. In other words, if the engines of the passenger planes are disassembled, maintained and reassembled, the F110 engines are also subjected to this process at a certain maintenance level. In the worst scenario, can we cannibalize our F16 fighter's engines? Just asking for asking because I trust TEI %.
