Chinese
Asia Times in the article “Homemade fighter from Turkey is ready to storm world markets” writes that KAAN will hunt
F35 customers... KAAN will become an admiral of the Turkish Air Force.
The publication (licking its lips :)) reports that Azerbaijan will be the first buyer of the fighter.
What follows is a long list of countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

There are 3 F-35 versions. US version, Israeli version and F-35 given to all other partners. The US spent a good amount to turn Turkish F-35s into US version.

Except Israeli version, all uses the same hardware for EW suite. that is BAE system's AN/ASQ-239 baracuda. (I am not denying the significant difference in software though)

Beware what you read in the Indian press. KAAN is not ready to storm world markets, is it? Perhaps 5 years down the line when it is tested and certificated...

About KSA becoming involved in KAAN: does KSA want to be involved in a 5G programme when 6G GCAP should be available less than 10 years after KAAN?

However, the GCAP members may not want KSA involved - when KSA ordered Typhoon, the first few were going to be assembled in the UK, the balance in KSA. BAE Systems prepared knock down kits for assembly in KSA only to find that KSA had not set up an assembly line. In my book that makes KSA an unreliable industrial partner.

"6G GCAP" bold claims. The last time I checked there were problems between GCAP partners, many supposed 6G features were trimmed down to realistic levels (aerodynamic design is similar to KAAN) and the cost per unit is estimated at 300+ million. There is no willingness from the UK to make KSA a part of the project. We will see the big picture better once the project amounts to something until then it is all on paper.

Yes, Tempest can be expected to be very expensive.

The GCAP programme is in definition phase. In 2025 the partners are scheduled to decide on whether or not to proceed to development.

I am not sure if KSA will want to trade another Typhoon order for some sort of involvement in the GCAP program.

It’s been almost one week from the first flight. There should not have been the second flight so far?

The whole Turkic Union has/must have the right, to purchase KAAN.

In Principle, yes. But if you sell it to both Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, they may fight each other off.
