(Sensor locations are canceled for the first flight)

Much more quiet than I expected. Which is good because when we talk about stealth, sonic signature is also included in that.

And this footage is also a testament to how supermaneuverable this aircraft is. The slightest input to the elevons makes the airframe pitch up dramatically, like a prancing horse :D

It is obvious that the pilot has put extra effort to take-off in a rather dignified manner, and not to launch straight to the moon 🤣

TUSAŞ Deputy General Manager Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Öztürk:

- Production of the second prototype of KAAN started. Parts are being produced. After the prototypes mature, mass production begins. The number of these prototypes will increase to 8.

- Now we are also preparing the infrastructure for how to produce 20 KAANs. We are building an ecosystem. We design a supply chain for all kinds of risks.

- You finish the fighterjet, but if you cannot establish a good supply chain, you cannot mass produce it. You cannot reach the desired figures and prices. We consider all of these. In the future, thousands of companies will take part in this ecosystem.

I thought they had already started part production for the second and third prototype last year?

Theoretically a higher bypass engine is quieter as it has a thicker cold air stream around the louder exhaust stream. Custom Kaan engine is supposedly one such higher bypass engine.

Saudis want to be a part of the Kaan project.
15 or 20 years ago, the Saudis ordered $110 billion worth of weapons from the United States. Serious clients. It's not easy to give up.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they order KAAN for at least $100 billion. “Halal products” must be written in large letters on board the KAAN.

A mistake that should not happen for any cost
It depends by what he actually means by "joining" the program

If Saudi Arabia wants to be a financial source to the KAAN program in exchange for gaining priviliges like cheaper sale prices, bigger discounts, and priorities to Saudi Orders compared to other countries, then I actually support the notion. KAAN program is undoubtedly expensive and costed and will still cost a looot; thus, having Saudi Arabia bearing a major chunk of the financial side for a bit of minor priviliges is a good deal for both sides

However, if Saudi Arabia wants to be involved in the Technology and Know-hows of building KAAN, then the onky answer is the middle finger tbh. The acquired tech and know-how is a result of suffering and embargoes for tens of years that Turkey should never even sell it to other nations

Maybe @TheInsider can clarify more regarding the "extent" to which the Saudis wanna be involved in the program
