Well of course its bigger. Because USA is bigger than Turkey economicly. I just pointed out that we do have serious problems on our hands.
Indeed I dont disagree there.

They have the luxury to throw money on such military procurements but this one left a scar. The American military industrial complex is huge to be honest whatever money they pour into is a drop in the pond.
If Turkiye done the same thing it would be scandals, turmoils and chaos if such money got spent on a failed project.
In the long term if a project fails to the Americans its a template for the future to do better but also gives contractors and politicians still get their cash bonuses.

I love the J-20 and would say that it is a great option. Unfortunately China is not willing to sell it to anyone. The FC-31 Is their export stealth jet.
Currently workhorse is F-16 and F-35 is going to replace them. Thing about it.Do you now how much money it will cost if you go use Ferrari as your workhorse? From tire to engine oil .

About the engine, Demir stated: "When it comes to engines, we had also initial engine design and development started, in the mean time we are going to use a readily available engine, not going to be exactly matching the requirements of the final design and our indigenous engine capability is different. But as long as the size and geometry and other paratemers are concerned we selected one or two of the engines available in the world so that we can at least have a roll out on time and first flight on time and hope that our indigenous engine is ready after 2027".Ismail Demir about the TF-X Current Status:
--> First Metal Cut was performed last week!
- TF-X Project is on Track, no hiccups to be expected
- Some of the Wind Tunnel Tests have already Started
The statement 'one or two engines available in the world" would IMO mean either the GE F110-129/132 or the PW F100-129 as they are very similar in size (length and diameter), weight and thrust.
Well, if you listen to Mahmut Aksit, he says that although at the moment, they have not been given the job of developing a new engine for TFX, they will be producing the f110 engines for the prototypes and probably the first planes. This makes sense as TEI has extensive expertise in manufacturing F110 engines and it’s parts. The statement 'one or two engines available in the world" would IMO mean either the GE F110-129/132 or the PW F100-129 as they are very similar in size (length and diameter), weight and thrust.

Both of them.Hei, do you think the ambition to make indigenous engine comes from the real intention to be independent and the belief in current capability or it is because the project get difficulty to get engine supply from the Westerners ??
Sooner or later a conflict of interest would happen and supplies would be cut off, so obvious.Hei, do you think the ambition to make indigenous engine comes from the real intention to be independent and the belief in current capability or it is because the project get difficulty to get engine supply from the Westerners ??
Now with the rumor that the mk41 VLS has been embargoed by the US, I think one can make the case that Ismail Demir's statement regarding the 'two' (different) engines that are able to power the prototypes of the TF-X/MMU are F110-GE-129 or AL-31F.The statement 'one or two engines available in the world" would IMO mean either the GE F110-129/132 or the PW F100-129 as they are very similar in size (length and diameter), weight and thrust.
