Not to burst the enthusiasm here but I'm gonna be honest it will most likely be TF-23 Kartal, I don't expect anything "creative", don't forget it has to be something that they can easily market for export 😅 .

T=Turkish
F=Fighter
23= 1923 (founding of the Republic) & 2023(year of first flight)
Kartal= Eagle (its gonna be a bird 100%)
I think it should be a bird name and it should be eagle.

The eagle and nature have an important place among the Turks. '"According to the Yakuts, a double-headed eagle sat on the top floor of the sky and at the gate of the sky opening to the ground, at the top of the World Tree connecting the earth and the sky. The protection of the heavens was the duty of this eagle." Again, "In Yakut Turks, the oath is taken in the name of the eagle.

In the Dede Korkut stories, the braves is depicted as an eagle:

He who keeps a nest on the rocks

Flying close to the almighty God

The sultan of all birds, the eagle bird

Do alpine braves worry about their enemy on the day of battle?

It should be Burkut instead of Kartal, as Burkut was the eagle gods name in Turkic mythology which is why it was associated with power and leadership. over centuries the word has entered the word several different languages outside the Turkic language family.

Copy paste name of Su-47 Berkut

Kartal sounds badass in English. Like a Mexican cartel

Think about it, you bought an F-16 from America and it's called "American Star", not "Fighting Falcon". It is not possible for your people or the army that used that plane to like this name. Therefore, I think the name "Turkish Star" would be one of the worst choices for an airplane to be exported.

I can imagine a vanilla version for export variant but a “single engine” TFX? Isn’t it a different aircraft in every way?
It is a different plane but it is like F22 and the F35. F22 is capable but not being sold for a number of reasons. Price and secretiveness among them. And some of the countries that you want to export it to maybe protected by having our bases there rather than selling them planes. A single engine plane can be cheaper while having all the similar capabilities as the TFX but with smaller combat radius, smaller payload but with the same sensor suit and awareness. TFX is a huge plane which not everyone can afford to have.

All are valid points and I agree with you but a single engine TFX (which is a huge aircraft designed with two engines to go beyond Mach 2) means a different design. I can’t see how can they overcome this with a redesign effort. That’s what I meant.

And now we’re, once again, happen to fall into a wrong thread I’m afraid 😬

TFX is likely to be named

Türk Yıldızı

meaning Turkish Star
I like it
Not a good name at all. Hope this is not true. It's unoriginal, uninspiring, does not have the right kind of connotations, and in English it sounds really arrogant ("star" meaning someone like a celebrity).

It is high in the sky like a star, shines like a star.

If it were too bad Türk Yıldızları would have changed their name.

It is not as good as "Baba Kartal" but I haven't yet heard a very good name either. There will also be a numerical name I guess.
