It is just pure populism. Here we have strict election rules and for the first time, someone messed up all our rules that we used to. Opening ceremonies and political decisions are restricted yet he do both. Suddenly he found some money(millions) and give people aid which is forbidden during elections.

Opening Marash was not plan. Even Akıncı mentioned that 5 years ago as a political maneuver against Greek Gas deals.. Especially foreign minister (who is an expert in international law) had a plan for opening Marash for years, and this year he started projects and planning about that. We supposed to make it in a way that UN or International courts could not punish us yet Greeks would be outplayed.. Tatar messed up it just for election, he rushed up and don't even inform his partner in the coalition.. Populism at its finest.. Tatar and his masters are doing everything to win here..

So you can understand why Turkish Cypriots are currently pissed off.. and why there are voting Akıncı.. I would not prefer Akıncı as a President and I didn't vote him. But if we have to choose between these two.. most people will not vote Tatar

Cyprus should be split. North and South. I think Turkish cypriots would prefer that. Cyprus whould be like korea just split it up make the north an independant country.

It's not like he chooses words wisely as you do to give you the opportunity to show empathy. Different. The fact is, right after the liberation of the North and even before that, there were politicians and currents who had infiltrated the North in order to promote annexation by Greece. Even then, there were different currents among the alleged Turks. This submissive behavior.. And Akinci is clearly one of those people. 100% of Turkish Cypriots want to keep their country and be sovereign.. Nobody here genuinely wants to unite with Greeks. This is a political game that most of the Turks in Turkey don't have enough knowledge. Self determination is forbidden by agreements signed by all parties. Apparently and unfortunately that Tuğgeneral does not have enough knowledge about Marash, that is another problem between us.

Maraş is just the suburbs of the city Mağusa (Famagusta), It is a divided city. We have Turkish part of Maraş and Closed Maraş which was Greek part. And it is all buildings etc, no place to have a military base, there are better places for a Military base but why would we want ruskies in our soil? Or why would Turkish Army allow a foreign military presence next to them.

Not all properties in Maraş (Varosha / Varoşlar) owned by Greeks, Europeans have hotels and properties there. And UN troops are inside the city. There are UN resolutions about that place. It can only be transferred to owners. Our real plan is to give those Europeans (Hilton hotels, Barclays bank etc) and Greeks their properties and open the city under Turkish Rule. Tatar just opened a road and a beach to public.... Not the city, but they advertised it as a bigger thing Disinformation!

I never done a proper introduction for those who wonder, I am working as a software developer, graduated from METU like Akıncı. Also I am a tech and aviation enthusiast with a lot interest in defence industry. I have been an observer member to PDF and WAFF since 2008, since the Mitüp Altay and Atak projects. Before I was searching projects from wikipedia or trmilitary forum but the content in PDF was better in quality for me. I want to thank those guys for sharing stuff all those years. So I spent nearly 12 years reading stuff in PDF and WAFF shared by people like Cabatli_53 just to learn about Turkish Defence projects and recently noticed lack of content then I found out this forum, I don't know what happened in PDF.

Also I am a Turkish Cypriot with roots going centuries back to first Turks that came to this island from Karaman etc. I have been to many countries and talk to many people with different perspective. I am neither religious nor nationalist and this is none of anyone's business. I love watching the developments in Turkish defence industry that is my only purpose here.

I have never involved to discussions in these forums that much.. I don't like to involve politics and focus on technological developments. But If you insult my President, my People or Country, then ofc I speak. Nobody can insult my president whether it is Denktaş, Akıncı or Tatar.. Don't expect respect from me or my people if you don't respect us. Haters are free to hate and buzz off.. This land and country is ours whether it is Greek or Turk if someone tries to take it from us or try to intervene our sovereignty then they are not my friend! This is the summary for all fanboys.
