I think it's worth remembering that Turkish Cypriots are ultimately separate from mainland Turkey and have/had their own cultural evolution and path. They shouldn't be forced to agree with Turkey on every single thing.

I respect Turkey and am thankful for them backing our rights in Nagorno-Karabakh but if Turkey tried to interfere in Azerbaijan's domestic politics like it does in Cyprus, there would be problems.

And come on people, calling Cypro a PKK sympathizer just because he disagreed with you is ridiculous.
Wow.. someone that really understands.. Thanks bro. Do you know once Turkey tried a coup in Azerbaijan which ruined all relations, I know some Azerbaijanis still hating because of this.. Those dudes always look from their side. I hope Azerbaijanis won't face the same insults that we are facing because of Turkey's support in Nagorno- Karabakh..Be careful the one who gives his hand loses his arm haha.. Lots of Love to brothers in Azerbaijan..

I have many friends there, like I have in Turkey from METU years. The ones who are treating my people like their brothers are my brothers too but the ones trying to crush and shape Turkish Cypriot identity, the ones who are trying to take our homeland, freedom, values are enemies just like Greek Cypriots who are thinking same. I am not racists, whatever language you are speaking or dna you have does not matter, if you are friendly I am friendly too, if you try to take what is mine, you are enemy, simple. Some ignorants always blame my people for being ungrateful and don't see that the real problem is their ill minds. We did everything to show how grateful we are for 50 years yet some mainlanders always treated like they conquered this land and it is theirs, they assassinated our journalists, expel our people, disband governments, destroy institutions.. changed demographics.. Now forcing everyone to believe, act and obey their world view. No fcking way, I am behind my words, I would rather be in a federation with Greeks than giving my land to those who don't respect my identity or freedom.. in worst case I would rather live in another country instead of being silenced or wasting my only life with bullshit of these guys. Those who understands it from their bottom, 100% of Turkish Cypriots including me wants live in their free independent Country, without sharing it with Greeks or without being suffocated by Turkey.. Nobody wants to be minority of anyone. It does not matter whether it is AKP or MHP, or else, the problem is mindset and mentality.

If I would have stockholm syndrome, I would love Turkey and yes I love it because not all are like those ignorants or racists who whenever see an opposite idea, immediately calls them as terrorists, enemies of state etc. Most of you don't understand a simple fact in island countries, here everyone knows each other, and everyone is related to each other, I can be related to both Tatar and Akıncı, or Denktash or Talat.. we don't have hatred between right and left everyone is related whenever you call Akıncı traitor some right wing people also might offended.. When you detain an opposition representative in Turkey.. Tatar could be offended.

I don't want to say this thing, it is a bit rude but some people here wanted it.... I am very grateful to martyrs, peace operation which is the main source of my enthusiasm towards Turkish army, Some of my teachers were Veterans, I grew up close to a military base so I always had friends and mentors from Turkish Army BUT for THOSE who count BLOOD... for those who say we gave martyrs, we take it with blood, it is our land! Turkey lost 498 heros in 1974, 100 of them were friendly fire, 67 heros died because our planes bombed TCG Kocatepe.. While Turkish Cypriots fought 20 years and lost 1000s of people to defend these lands.. If we determine with blood, we have more blood so that is our land not yours. Every village and every family has martyrs here..

And yes I am in this forum to see how my beloved PKK is getting new shiny weapons and getting stronger day by day also to divide national unity 🤣 feel free to ban or try to learn the mindset of enemy.

To be fair i see Turkey reclaiming the entire island within the next 50 years.

Greeks are weak and declining, their population in 50 years will be around 5 million with 1/3 being pensioners. While Turkey will be over a 120 million. The truth is history is going to repeat itself but i think this time the Turks will take the european model and make sure those lands are secured from future problems.

Its a very real possibility that within 50 years time Turkey will return to being the most powerful state in Europe like the Ottomans before.
To be fair I see dinosaurs taking back the world in 50 years, but not to worry most of you won't see it hahaha.. Hopefully new Generation of Turks are coming and will change Turkey forever and clean all dinosaurs.

After Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Gambia and Libya are ready to recognize TRNC.

Without the growing Turkish geopolitical might, this would have been an impossibility. I expect more countries to follow suit as long as Turkey's power grows.
These type of things happened before don't get too excited, sometimes it is a diplomatic game to get leverage and force a solution. In the end they always somehow step back. Pakistan don't care EU or US but they do care China or Russia.

with all due respect. hypothetical scenario, mainland decide for any reason possible that dose not want to have anything with northern cyprus in any way and decide to follow international laws regarding state sovereignity.
What are your options once you can not complain about mainland influence?

yes, i understand your personal position and i do not mind it, you have free mind to shape your own position via action reaction relations. i asked you because you are local in broader picture context under scenario i explained and you could probably make more accurate prediction from your perspective, so what would happen if that come true in hypothetical scenario framed in my previous post.

Honestly politics aside why are Turkish cypriots racist towards the Mainland??

Every time Turkish cypriots call us Islamists, Fanatics, Backwards and whole lot of stereotypes.

Pretty disgusting while Turks of Turkey treat Turkish cypriots like little brothers.

Sorry but Turkish cypriots need to stop being hostile to us.

Since first day I am explaining this in this forum, we have never been hostile or racist, I don't distinguish people due to their hometown when I am loving, I have teachers, family members, friends, girl friends from Turkey, love them very much.. But at the same time defending my identity against who does not respect it. We opened our arms to brothers when they came aid with love, then ask yourself why they feel different now. Why they afraid of their savior being taking their land and kicking them out hahah. Take first step by not treating like little* brother or slave, when you come with love, we have more love in this island to give back. And Why am I in this forum or watched and angered to Turkish National team in Eurocap or GS in süper lig if am I hostile or PKK supporter.

I hope that mistake never be done of course, which would harm Turkey's international position, economy etc. causes more valid sanctions and turn Turkish Cypriots to enemy but if that scenario happens.. To be honest, most things would remain same, but may be Northern Cyprus would be looted by Turkish businesses, beaches would be destroyed, Police becomes Turkish police, many people become criminals because of their ideas, Turkish Cypriots lose jobs, become alienated, oppressed and turn to enemies of state or chronic opposition. Including me most would emigrate to Europe (already 1 of every 3 young T.Cypriot studies and prefers to stay in Europe )... Even today it is becoming mix of little Nigeria and Turkey.. It is more logical that Nigerians resist against Turkey than Cypriots.

Of course I would prefer to take up arms and defend my independency hahaha, but I know it is illogical to fight against drones and tanks, why would I die if losing is certain.. so all opposition come together and sue Turkey in European courts, go cry to UN and EU or attempt to return old republic but eventually accept the nightmare and wait Turkey to evolve or slightly extinct.

Direct annexation would be very hard and unacceptable but may be first a self governing autonomous region would get less resistance either way I don't want to live in Turkey, not after 2013. I know what I saw, and no way. Europe is also not a dreamland, whenever they see Turkish name they start acting different as they love Turks very much. So I may reside to Japan 😍 thanks to my diploma from Turkey, I can work anywhere in the world.

Well, regardless I hope that more nations will recognize KKTC and trade will boom. I think current situation isn’t constructive especially considering what AKP and RTE has done with Turkey. It’s a natural occurance that KKTC will become more sovereign with more trade partners and can grow into their own identity without having to suck up to brats that doesn’t live or has experienced 1974.

sorry, you might misunderstood me, what i meant that Turkey let you completely of the hook and let you mind your own bussines, no any meddling in your island affairs. no army, no money. no settlers, nothing from turkey like that you do not exist, i meant that.
in that light, what is your position as northern cypriot regarding in which direction would things go from there and possible outcomes and consequences for northern cypriots in general.

Whenever TRNC becomes a little bit sovereign, trade increases or economy becomes self sufficient.. Some shady hands from overseas cripples it mate.. up to 90s TRNC was lending foreign currency to Turkey.. Can you believe what a disgrace that little brother lending you money.. then they cripple it.. like they did in 1983 or afterwards.. No one loses love overnight, every story has two sides.

Oh that scenario is better... then we need to invest in our defence more.. in this regards we probably should be recognized otherwise it is too challenging.. First of all all trade, tourism and flights are through Turkey, let's say we become enemies, you closed your gates.. what would we do? If it is not recognized, country would become depended to land borders with South.. which is worse.. but we are not so weak.. South has 800k pop we have 400k.. we can still defend but let's not forget half of this pop is settlers what if they also gone? than it would be very hard to defend but that is now impossible cos most of them are not settlers anymore they were born here, in any scenario we would have 300k pop with many reserves. From defence perspective in modern war, unless south gets drones or game changing things I see no security threat.. neither EU approve another conflict here.

What would harm us is losing Turkish tourists and students, gdp would shrink and we have to find other ways of generating income... If you are asking about direction nobody would want to unite with south unless it is in good terms. Most desperate thing we can do is to return 1960 agreements and disband TRNC. Without Turkey and influence from Turkey, or support, Turkish Cypriots would be more close to a plan like Annan plan rather than being crushed under isolations. In that scenario Greeks would have an upper hand in any solution plan. I am glad to have Turkey's support, just requesting well constructed relations than being puppet. TRNC could survive without aid or troops but not by cutting all relations

The reality is... This is Turkey and TRNC..

You are exaggerating Greek Cypriots and underestimating Turks, like they did before. Turks never been so weak like you saw in TRT series, to be honest we were better armed when civil war started as being outnumbered. And both communities can't live together without separated regions exists, living together remained in the past.. It is not just us, they don't want too. Only thing that could swallow TRNC is Turkey. And eventually all countries, borders, nations will dissolve and world become a different place in couple of centuries. Evil corporations take over the world and we will unite against them

No mate, one on one, i do not have any doubt that you would manage to protect your own inerests and yourself best you can. Thing is that they would use tools of international laws to pressure you in submission due isolation and various sanctions, supported by EU, honestly only what detter them is strong Turkey presence and involment. I know that Turkey will never abandon you but i just wanted to point out if something like that happens and in that sence gravity of such situation. Considering that fact all other quarells seems insignificant and childish.

I don't see what could be the harmful side, not for TRNC or Turkey in this atmosphere. For Pakistan it would create some problems.. Recognition shouldn't be the first step or goal.. Correct and smart way to do is to declare that in regards with freedom of travel and freedom to do business stated in human rights.. Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Libya etc will start direct flights and trade to Northern Cyprus... That is how you change the game.. this was raised couple of times in UK's parliament, a lot of pressure to allow direct flights as it is a human right to freely travel.. Once we can achieve this with some states, others will follow and recognition would become a easier goal which would give us leverage on the table. Some leaders and parties were after this without populism but unfortunately they are now in opposition. Same guys who decided to open Varosha long before Tatar grab their idea.

My guess hes not even Cypriot but most likely a PKK supporter from EU country their kind always run false flag ops together with Greek/ Armenian internet users. He has been false flagging since day 1 but forum management decided to turn a blind eye to him.
This is not the place for filthy lies against the management of the forum! The admins and mods don't turn a blind eye to anything and in the case of @Cypro we researched and confirmed he is not false flagging. You can't accuse someone of false flagging because he is not on your opinion. If you want to contribute with anything on this debate rather than personal remarks get some strong facts and share them in the thread. I personally am not on the same line with him on many points to but this is not enough to brand someone as PKK, FETO or whatever terrorist organization supporter. People on this forum should learn to refrain from such name callings as this can bring unfair treatment and even threat for the life of the unfairly accused user.

We have rules and they state that spreading propaganda of terrorist and criminal organizations is forbidden. If you see such content I can assure you that actions will be taken immediately by our team in case of report and such people will be banned from the luxury of using our forum.
