Τα 100 δισ.
Οwww.enikos.gr
As much as we love to clown on our neighbors across the aegan. Their media when it comes to this stuff is pretty on point. They were the first ones to report about the F-16V deal years ago before the government or our own media had let anything slip.Greek media either making up things or better informed than everyone in Turkish media & Washington.
I mean with our own Özgür 2 program will have block 70 like f16 so I would rather have the F35 but we do need more aircraft maybe buy second hand f16 and the right to upgrade them all.As much as we love to clown on our neighbors across the aegan. They also have been reporting for months now what our own media and "experts" are slowly letting out.
Though if LM lowers the price as a deal I would still take the 40 F-16V just to beef up the Air Force.
Also while we are at it with the americans how about some more CH-47 for the Land Forces and MH-60R for the Navy.
Might as well.

Very interesting times. FDD also start talking about it being an active possibility that will happen so they should present demands instead.Purchase of 40 F-16V fighters has been frozen. Turkish government looking to purchase 40 F-35 instead.

Is the purchase price that important? Over 6000 hours of use, how much does $5 million more or $5 million less in the purchase price matter?I think people should reign in their enthusiasm and consider the cost of things. If the american economy receives a gut wrenching punch, then we may be able to get those planes. But they will not lower the prices because we need those planes more than US needs to sell them.
Considering the problems around the globe US can easily find buyers for their F16 in SEA countries and other countries.
I doubt it does, at the end of the day all Senate has to do is delay and redirect Trumps attention to elsewhere. So in the end it all boils down to how many "friends" you got in Senate and the house. And to be honest unless WW3 breaks out. I doubt we're getting those planes before we're ready to semi produce KAAN's.Is the purchase price that important? Not being political here, but in my opinion the US and Turkish leaders both display autocratic, anti-democratic behaviour. Does this similarity improve the chances of the US approving supply of F-35?

IMO it looks like one condition to get F-35s will be to not build bases in Syria. As we all expected.
Israel's Netanyahu lobbying US against F-35 sale to Turkey, sources say
"Netanyahu looks to maintain Israel's qualitative military edge over Turkey's air force with tensions in Syria rising
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been lobbying US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to block the sale of F-35 warplanes to Turkey, citing concerns over Ankara’s growing influence in Syria, three sources, including two senior western officials, told Middle East Eye.
Netanyahu raised the F-35 issue during multiple calls with Rubio in March and April, the two western officials said. A third source familiar with the matter confirmed that Netanyahu had pressed Rubio on the arms sale.
Netanyahu has privately said he will push Trump against the F-35 sale but has yet to discuss it with him. The Israeli leader will meet Trump at the White House on Monday, his second visit this year."

NETANYAHU'S WORDS ABOUT TURKEY
U.S. President Donald Trump appeared in front of cameras with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Oval Office. Trump stated that they discussed Iran with Netanyahu. Netanyahu mentioned Turkey by name, saying, "We do not want Syria to be used as a base for attacks on Israel. We do not want a conflict with Turkey. Trump has a good relationship with Erdoğan. We want him to help us."
