As much as we love to clown on our neighbors across the aegan. Their media when it comes to this stuff is pretty on point. They were the first ones to report about the F-16V deal years ago before the government or our own media had let anything slip.

They also have been reporting for months now what our own media and "experts" are slowly letting out.

Though if LM lowers the price as a deal I would still take the 40 F-16V just to beef up the Air Force.

Also while we are at it with the americans how about some more CH-47 for the Land Forces and MH-60R for the Navy.

I mean with our own Özgür 2 program will have block 70 like f16 so I would rather have the F35 but we do need more aircraft maybe buy second hand f16 and the right to upgrade them all.

We need minimum 350 active duty jets in the future currently we’re 100 short.

Ch-47 are also needed 11 are laughable minimum 25 but Mh 60 are not needed as marine gökbey will come in 2028.

I like your enthusiasm over the purchase of F16V70 planes.
But to purchase 40 planes that will bring with it new weapons purchases and more dependability to US, need to be addressed and reconsidered.

Besides, if Murad is to be ready soon, it is better to fit it to our own f16 Ozgurs making them potentially unknown to adversaries. Even with low energy output of F16s, if it can make a few km difference in radar range, due to its GaN modules, it is a no brainer.

Considering the fact that Typhoons we will be receiving are going to be far superior to the F16V70s, we might as well buy another 20 of those if we can spare the cash.

According to RAF, F35s and Typhoons make a seamless match without causing any sharp differences of performance when operating together. On the contrary they complement each other perfectly.

I think people should reign in their enthusiasm and consider the cost of things. If the american economy receives a gut wrenching punch, then we may be able to get those planes. But they will not lower the prices because we need those planes more than US needs to sell them.

Considering the problems around the globe US can easily find buyers for their F16 in SEA countries and other countries.

Only for the reason that the US can wave CAATSA in front of our nose any time it suits it, we shouldn't go back to that deal.

Not to mention them admitting selling dumbed down versions to allies, or the negative impact on our own KAAN, or the fact that it's more like a lease rather than a purchase because Lockheed has to do all core maintenance itself with their own staff.

The plane doesn't have a "kill switch" but the US has means to serve a very similar purpose, i.e. delaying maintenance, not delivering spare parts, charging more and more for those as time goes.

At most we should probably just get one squadron of each F-35A and F-35B and focus on making the KAAN our a primary fighter by putting most of our energy into it.

Not being political here, but in my opinion the US and Turkish leaders both display autocratic, anti-democratic behaviour. Does this similarity improve the chances of the US approving supply of F-35?

I doubt it does, at the end of the day all Senate has to do is delay and redirect Trumps attention to elsewhere. So in the end it all boils down to how many "friends" you got in Senate and the house. And to be honest unless WW3 breaks out. I doubt we're getting those planes before we're ready to semi produce KAAN's.

I don't think a greater Turkish/American cooperation which will include F-35s as well will not come without a greater understanding regarding Iran between the two. F-35 is not the crux of the matter, but it's the most visible one.
