When you combine with TAI's drone sales, this reminds me of another map, although very unrelated: The widest sphere of influence of the Ottomanic world order

Indirectly, and albeit to some extent, it also points to areas of influence that still alive when the Turks made a military breakthrough.
Actually it is easier to have military bases and political influence over extended geography than to annex pieces of land.

There is a turboprop UAV project it is alive and kicking. Aksungur performed better than expected so there was an internal discussion should we just mount a TP engine and call it a day or should we use one of our existing studied designs? PD-170 performs better than TAI expected but those two still come short of the requirement of operating at 40 to 45k feet for the high-altitude intelligence drone. It really forces engines and PD-170 can't carry enough payload to that altitude range.

The weight of PD-170 is similar to a 750hp PT-6 turboprop.
Their weights are similar but PT-6 generates more than 4x the power than the PD-170. As a prototype engine it's fine but we really need to step it up here. Turboprops should be simpler than turbofan engines after all.

It was not my point. It is possible to mount PT-6 instead of PD-170 especially after TAI starts using stronger wings on Anka-Aksungur. 550hp version of PT-6 might be a better fit. Aksungur is a big UAV and will be able to carry enough payload to high altitudes with PT-6 engines. PT-6 also produces enough electricity to power on-board systems and possible payloads but still, there might be other requirements we don't know like maybe it can't carry a specific payload for whatever reason maybe it is too slow (maybe it is required to be as fast as 350knots at sea level) due to its big wings etc. In the end, there are decisions and trade-offs to make.

I have question regarding the Akinci. WHen having payload under the fuselage, wouldn't it obstruct the forward view of the flir? I am not sure forward view is important or not on UAV.

I have question regarding the Akinci. WHen having payload under the fuselage, wouldn't it obstruct the forward view of the flir? I am not sure forward view is important or not on UAV.

Why to obstruct ? Akinci is in sky and most of use of flir is toward the land so there is no obstruct unless akinci use its flir to film another plane just in front of him

Well for the situational awareness for such scenario below. Yes it will have radar but still maybe some visuals are also better to have.

We will see because I asked this directly to the Baykar don't be surprised if TB3 starts take-off and landing trials on LHD next year. They are also training their AI with those advanced simulations. Their plan is also to conduct the first trials with KE on TCG Anadolu in 2025.

Again, Nope. At best we will see a take off in 2024, no landing. Only if Baykar proves the concept at the land.

For your information; Baykar does not govern trials on Anadolu, Navy does.

Also; double checked, they have not simulated the vessel motion as of May, 2023.
