Isn't alpagu close to switchblade sorry for my Ignorance.
Even the smaller Switchblade has 5 or 6 times more payload than Alpagu, can't remember the exact number, with more range and endurance. So, it is more like a cheap knock-off really.
Could Kargu just be more of an experiment just for STM to improve its products?
It has been exported to 10 or more countries, with Turkish military buying hundreds itself, I doubt it is as useless as people are making it out to be here, not it is just an experiment. It is a completely different class of drone than Lancet, for example. Right now, it is a recon drone that can also strike targets of opportunity, namely foot soldiers. The biggest problem with it in its current role, imo, is that it has too few fragments in it. One look at MKEK's fragmentation grenade shows that it has twice as many fragments in it.
But in general, I think people here are reaching to conclusions way too quickly. I can find photos of Lancets caught in nets or failed to explode but it doesn't mean they are not useless. While I agree a drone with bigger payload, whether it is anti-armour or anti-personnel, would be much better, Kargu must be doing something right for it to keep selling.
