Unmanned gyrocopters, offer several advantages over other unmanned helicopters and unmanned planes. Here are some of the key advantages:

Gendarmarie can use it for patroling. I am not sure if they have such a need. But Gyrocopters are more for recreational use than anything. They need a runway to take off and land.

They need very short runway. Landing requires shorter. Some gyrocopters have jump capability so they don't need runway.

When it comes to unmanned system where pilot skill is not required I would say helicopers is the only way to go as they are fully controllable. Helicopters are very complicated and very expensive to produce while they have very limited payload and range capabilities. Helicopters palls are state of art technology.
Gyrocopters are very simple so Producing Gyrocopters is very easy and cheap.

For Navy they would be great. TCG ANADOLU could operate. Also for Transport could be used.

Gyrocopters are very simple so Producing Gyrocopters is very easy and cheap.

For military use, cost is not really an issue, but controllability is paramaunt.

Too bad in Türkiye helicopter sector is too weak. Until TAI started making them with help from the Italians there was no achievement at all. There were tiny remote controlled recreational models. In Japan they use small helicopters for pesticide applications in agricultural use. Still today other than TAI and foreign partnership ALPIN there is no operational builds.

BTW Bayraktar TB2 and others needs a flat concrete runway. It is not possible to take off and land from dirt ground or grass or field. Also, they need a long runway to take off.Most gyrocopters nowadays only require around 20mof runway to go up in the sky and around 60mfor landing. That means they can be flown from practically everywhere.

Gyrocopters can take off and land from grass football fields, villages.
So you don't need to airbases which your enemys' first target.

Almost no.




Engine of autogyros don't power the rotors. Rotors turn Themselves from pushing power of wind.


An autogyro (from Greek αὐτός and γύρος, "self-turning"), or gyroplane, is a class of rotorcraft that uses an unpowered rotor in free autorotation to develop lift. While similar to a helicopter rotor in appearance, the autogyro's unpowered rotor disc must have air flowing upward across it to make it rotate.

İf We could make unmanned X3 style hybrid helicopter , it would be different solution.

Anyway i quit . Autogyros are enough:)

But is PD170 powerful enough to do that? Or would we have to wait for PD-222ST for that?
I have had the impression for a while that while PD222 is intended for that purpose, because it goes down to 115HP at 30k feet vs 130HP of Pd170 they were actually intending to use PD170 instead thinking it might be enough for take off.
