I expect Anka-3 twin Engine Variant similar like NGAD from Design.

I bet that'll be Anka-4 and Anka-3 twin engine will retain the general shape of flying wing. In fact, I think TAI's roadmap showed that as well but I might be remembering it wrong.

They will be flying Wing, but there will be some Design Changes to archieve Supersonic Speeds. The current Design is not capable for Supersonic Speeds.

Well if you call a dagger shaped design a flying wing, there won't be problems with a supersonic "flying wing", hopefully so

I believe Kızılelma is tied with KAAN as the most promising Turkish aviation project to date. Not because it's better, but because there is a chance that Kızılelma will have vastly superior conops design and easier production. It will sell like crazy. Just needs one A2A kill and floodgates will be wide open.

Selçuk Bey has a chance to revolutionize air warfare by making advanced capabilities accesible, just like how TB2 did the same with precision strikes. My guess is, he aims to make something that will dominate 4th gen fighters and do SEAD/DEAD. If that goal is achieved, then keeping a competent air power will be significantly easier for friends of the Turkish Republic. Off the shelf A2A and SEAD/DEAD capability.

Of course that's if he can actually manage to do it. I hope it happens. I may even sacrifice a goat when it happens.
Non stealth uavs do not survive in high intensity war if there is enough air defence systems,TB2 do some jobs in ukro russia war but never get an impact as we see in syria,libya and karabağ conflicts,but baykar see the fact and make kemankeş missiles,and roketsan iha 230 ,122 missiles to avoid most of the short and medium altitude air defences,and with aselsan stand off jammer pods to reduce air defence radars coverage ,and this pods can also detect, track air surviallance radars instead of using manned aircrafts in a dangeorus way.However stealth uavs are more strategic assets for passive ED,deads,and deep strike duties.

Anka 3 is a flying wing. Theoretically with powerful enough engines it can achieve supersonic. But from engineering point of view, supersonic flying wings with such thin wings, will not be feasible.

The only way to make a flying wing supersonic is a bi-directional flying wing as per NASA’s experimental designs show:

A bi directional plane such as this which starts with subsonic then rotates by 90 degrees to fly supersonic is the way to achieve feasible flight.

NGAD is in essence half of such a bi-directional flying wing. It operates on supersonic delta wing form.

So in order for Anka 3 to have supersonic capability, it needs to have thin enough wings but in delta form as per any supersonic plane.
Just remember f14 when it used to close wings to form delta wing when going from subsonic to supersonic.

12 Kızılelma per year. Ideally we would want 24 per year just for TuAF. They'll play an important role as a stop-gap solution until Kaan is ready.

Hopefully weapons tests begin soon.


Building the fuselage is quite easy and can be done at higher rate. But high end avionics supplied by Aselsan alone and also the engines are much more complicated and takes longer to produce.

🔹One of the biggest challenges in the development of MURAD-100A was fitting the radar into the narrow nose cone of the F-16 and AKINCI.
🔹To overcome these challenges, extensive thermal and mechanical design studies were carried out, as well as RF and digital design, testing and verification processes.

12 kızılelmas for this year is rather ambitious seeing as it hasn't flown in a while and hasn't done any weapons tests.

what i dont get is why is baykar so insistent on making its own engines. both piston and turbofan. Like, isn't tei's pd112 or whatever it was supposedly very competitive? I recall watching a presentation by a tei official covering weight to power and power loss at altitude for their pd engines, the dude was very proud and all.

I genuinely don't get the baykar turbofan involvement. It's a humongous undertaking. At first glance it seems like a waste spending such r and d budgeting on a product already underway in research by a state corp. Does baykar think they can leapfrog tei and make it faster? Or that they can achieve more thrust for the same size? Maybe they just dont have faith tei can deliver in the necessary numbers.

It'd be fine if they weren't competing at all like kale arge's rocket engines...but this just seems wasteful. I don't think "competition is good" applies at this level of budget required.

Ambitious, yes. However, your reasoning is flawed. Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it didn't happen. A project like KE was bound to enter extreme secrecy at some point. Head of SSB did confirm some month ago that KE had concluded flight tests.

It is not wasteful but necessary: TEI is 46% GE for one thing. Add to this the possibility of a government change and a new government makes up reasons to put a stop to engine supply to Baykar. We have seen similar things in the past of Türkiye, stop the Turks from inside, "aviation is wasteful".

All countries that want to play a sizable role in aviation have more than just one aviation engine makers.

If you don't like the government, Baykar is susceptible to political change, and TAI is better in that regard.

TAI had been always shining star but i agree with that BAYKAR would not gather fruits of TAI,TUSAS.

I don't see how TAI was a shining start as it was doing nothing before they were ordered to make planes by the current government. What fruits did TUSAŞ make so that Baykar could eat?

Around the world amateur individuals used to make such scale model planes, useless stuff.

Baykar made the TB2 by converting a full size plane into a remotely controlled one.

Erdoğan needed a plane like the TB2 and it was a gift from Baykar to Erdoğan.
