Would have been nice before we invested so much in TF6000 but now that we have, we should try to maximize our orders of that in order to fund TEI and get a good return on that investment
It can still prove to be a testing and development engine for the interim period, until our TF10000 and TF6000 engines have matured.
In fact even the Honeywell can provide similar thrust level engines in the form of F124 and F125 to be suitable for both UAVs.
But none of the foreign engines will be correct for our intended final use. TF6000 and TF10000 are being designed to be suitable for a “stealth” plane. They employ technologies ahead of the others. Adour dates back to late 60’s. Honeywell engine to late 70’s. Even though both engines have been transformed by addition of newer technologies, they are still the product of an older era.
Since the planes these engines will propel won‘t be carrying human life, they don’t need lengthy certification procedures. Once the engines start delivering the required thrust levels, they can be installed and integrated on the Anka-3 and KE. So hopefully we won’t be waiting for serial production for too long like we have been doing for the TS-1400 engine.
