Maybe noob question here, but what's so special about Marder anyway ? It's old late 60s design, it doesn't have many fancy gadgets modern ifv have.
It seems that the Ukrainians really want these Marders really bad, even after getting rejected again ad again by Olaf Scholz
Yeah i kinda get it, but if they commit the same efforts in trying alternatives maybe they could get some good used ifv now.Simply the largest amounts of a reliable enough platform nearby to the war theatre. Ukraine and allies have to keep doing their best to get Germany to commit a significant % of these now....it is best to fight this war here and now rather than somewhere else later.

France has the similar AMX-10p for example
A 78-year-old writer Yevgeny Bal died near #Mariupol after three days of torture by the #Russian military.
Russian servicemen released Bal on March 21 with the words "we do not fight with veterans of the #Soviet Navy."
But the man could not come to his senses (recover) after the abuse.
Additional reporting indicates that Bal suffered a fatal heart attack a week and a half after being released.
Evidence (quickly left behind) of utterly garbage artillery ammo handling by Russian army.
My (ex British army) buddy reaction:
“Good ammunition handling practice is for imperialist pigs. Here comrade, hold my wodka, I’ll show you how it’s done…”
Her mind would be blown if she found out that France and other EU nations have been arming the Russians despite sanctions. And that Le Pen's main mission is for a revised Franco-Russian alliance. To normalize Putinism. Which is in the works in Europe.
