Alot of you are seeing Russia army as weak without knowing the kind of war that Russia is facing , thats make some example .
The Canada vs USA war break out and Canada has full support of China, Russia , Iran , Turkey and some tens of others coutries .
USA knowing that Canadians are white people and almost same kin cant just bomb 24/7 civilian areas and kill them all like in Iraq , libya, syria etc but just some airstrike in military area .
So USA sent 150 k soldiers to capture some part of Canada and deatroy Canadians goverment .
So now tell me , USA tanks and armored vihacles will move safe accross Canada streets while China Russia and others supplies it with millions of Anti tank missiles??
Tell me Canada will get all kind of intel about USA Aircrafts , USA desteoyes etc .
So if Canada has intel where the the US warship is and has Anti ship missile cant Canada hit US warship if it fire 5 Anti ship missiles and sent drones upon her ?!
This kind of war that Russia is faces is the wrost war that one country can fight .
There is no big difference between Russian tank or Usa Japan tank . All are made by steel and human tech . If Russian tank can be destroyed thats mean aslo for USA ones .
U got stunned because USA fight with minimal loossers in Iraq and other war but she MMAASSAACCRRE MILLIONS with its Airforce and then enter without resistence . Russia cant masacre his people . perhaps if Ukrainians were muslims will be another story but in this war Russia have Right and NATO should get out from Eastern Europe .

Shame about the 40 year old Russian cruiser being sunk. Lol. If Ukraine keeps up with these heli attacks on Russia, they will find a couple missiles landing on their political elites head.

Russian Armed Forces is paper tiger

They can only beat likes of poorly arned Syrian Rebels & Chechens through aviation + artillery carpet bombing

Even in WW2 only reason tjey beat Nazi Germany was because of US lend lease program & Allies bombing the hell out of German cities, war production + logistical supply lines

Every major war Russia has been in since they have lost

Seizure of Crimea in 2014 they got lucky because Kucma + Yanukovych packed Ukraines Military & Intelligence agencies with pro Russians & Kremlin agents

Why? No SRH? I though it has its own radar
It is not about the missile, it is about the target platform.
You need for more than just two anti-ship missiles to sink modern warships.

Moskva was an outdated one, despite of being modernized, still was lacking an integrated ,as much as the western equilavents, CMS and cutting edge radar systems. From the complement number it is also clear she lacked automation in the defenses.

CIWS lacked autonomy, lacked its own search radar. The ship was not made to survive, was not made to face a coastal or anti-ship threat. She was pretty much a tank, at sea.

FREMM is not like that.

quote from buddy:

When the Slava first appeared, my Dad looked at those 16 missiles, dug out his slide rule, and did some math. He ended up saying that just the fuel in either the port or starboard missile tubes, take your pick, had enough thermal energy to melt the entire ship above the main deck. That does not include the explosives cooking off, other flammables, or the fire spreading to the other side of the ship and lighting off the other eight missiles...
The timing was perfect for the 'incident'.

A ship is definitely bound to sink;

- When captain has decided to use open emergency channels for SOS, seeking help from nearby commercial vessels to pick up the crew at sea.

- When captain decides to 'abandon' the ship. Note, how people preferred to use the evacuation term and it is wrong here, passengers evacuate a ship, crew abadons her.

- Crew abandoning while a fire is going on, means it is an hopeless case.

- Again no matter how big is a ship, a fire will definitely sink it. Not the waves.

- No tugboat captain is crazy enough approach a cruiser fitted with tons of explosive and fuel, no crew and push-pull it to a harbor in sea state 5 to 6.

This was inevitable, nobody simple gave a chance for a little boy to take on a big one.

They celebrate russian naval day with the unprovoked attack on the port of Sinop.

Not just incompetence all it takes is one missile those ammo can go boom.

Incompetence to the highest order bloody hell.
Never rush to attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence.

Remember that when the Kursk exploded under water, it was attributed to combination of neglect, incompetence and poor repair.

I'm not saying that an anti-ship missile wasn't fired at the Moskva, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if something exploded on the ship and the magazine caught fire and exploded, overwhelming the crew's attempt at fighting the fire.

All is going according to the plan. The plan was to force Ukraine to use the few Neptune missiles it had and the Moskva accomplished its mission!!
And now Black Sea Fleet of RuN has a 12000+ tonnes submarine.
All according to the plan.

2nd option gets even worse when we assume the fact; they are still not being aware of the hit after hours. Few survivors report it as an explosion.
:) :)

One of the narrative back then is the torpedoe being used which usually fir trsining purpose in bad condition due to lack of service.

I have zero knowledge when it comes to ships let alone military ones. Still, I don't understand exactly how fire can lead to sinking. How is fire capable of damaging the thick metal hull of a ship?

If the temperature reach 400deg Celsius, steel will start to lose its strength

Wow, Japan is now preparing a shipment of weapons that will be transferred to Europe and are destined for Ukraine.

This represents a huge shift in Japanese policy, aligning them even closer with NATO and the West. They had previously sent body armor, helmets, uniforms and some medical gear. Word is that this package contains anti-armor weapons, explosive ordinance and a variety of mixed ammunition.

I'll be genuinely curious to see what the eventual size of the shipment is, although I expect Japan to be much quieter in terms of dollar figures and specifics. Much more like France than the United States ot Britain.

First of all, the fuel is flammable. I am not sure what kind of fuel Moskva used to use to power the gas turbines, the heavy diesel oil used on marine platforms burns just so good. Oil tanks are usually positioned underwater part of the ship but there is settling tank which is around the engine room so is the separators, lubricants etc. If any of those catches fire and if the ship is not equipped with proper fire-fighting equipment and suppressant systems in the engine room or wherever the fuel and lubricant oil fed from, then it continues to burn once set ablaze.

Secondly, the isolation material inside the hull, furniture, equipment. The fire propagates just nice through these parts. The fireproof doors, isolated compartments and sprinkles can stop this. At this stage it is related to fire-fighting equipment, fire-fighting plan of the ship and readiness of the crew.

Third is the ammunition but that rather becomes an explosion than a fire.

If any of these triggers then the steel - the material that ship is built - just burns, long before than it melts. Eventually reaches to ammunition storage and central magazines. In case of commercial ships the fire propagates and eventually weakens the hull enough to loose its integrity or reach to the underwater plating and the ship sinks by being flooded.

When steel burns the fire just propagates anywhere, freely.

Japan is arming up. Neutrality is now a thing of the past.

Japan has too many threats with China, North Korea and Russia. Along with an uneasy relationship with South Korea and Taiwan but their relations despite being rocky are mainly mutual and not hostile. Hostility stems from imperial Japans history of ruling both SK and Taiwan. But I dont think Japan and SK will fight each other due to China and NK.

But Japan is now coming back to the geopolitical field.

Heard the number of survivor is not much, far less than their total complement, means they can't overcome the "incident" in the mean given time indicated the "incident" most likely the result of external intervention compared to some neglected SOP during the whole mission which results in internal fire or explosion. Such Cases is usually happened during war distress. The other clue is, this ship just very recently being rested and doing some resupply in Sevastopol (anchored in 10 April), and at the same time we know they erased the hull number of Moskva means the crew actually taking check of her condition before sailing out for another mission, mean they actually have less chance to catch fire as they claimed. The other given deadaway is the timing of Ukraine claims is very close to distress signal given by the Warship through Morse code and the claim from nearby Romanian and Turkish vessels nearby when received the SOS signal.

This Ship is being Sunk by the Ukraine armed Forces
