What happened to the two other unmanned anti submarine drones that were under construction?

Now has Aselsan E/O and probably Aselsan's light stabilized weapon platform for coastal protection and inspection duties.
I think they also can also mount 12.7 and 25mm with ease and use ammo feed from under the deck if necessary.

*Operates up to sea state 5 for weapon missions, 6 for ISR / SR missions as told by ARES manager, and i think survives up to 7.

Also ULAQ twitter account has responded to a comment, asking for possible counter-measures for capturing and enemy's physical intervention. It was told the platform has, undisclosed, novel techniques to prevent from sensitive data and technology being captured by the enemy.
So we may think, in addition to self-destruction of the whole platform and certain subsystems, there are additional measures to keep the platform safe from human intervention, or to prevent from an intervention/capturing.

One by one different versions of ULAQ will be introduced. Now a version that will protect and defend naval bases and ports is being developed.
This is the future of naval warfare; Without involving your valuable assets, attack and defend with unmanned expendable assets.
Naval battles like “Tsushima” and Midway are in the past. No ship to ship battles will be fought.

@Anmdt any news about these?
NB coded one (ASW) will be launched in 2022 Q1.

RD one is for R&D, the trimaran that will go through testing and demonstrations, it is not a direct order but experimental hull funded jointly by R&D funds.

It's fantastic that Aselsan is willing to provide the necessary systems while competing as well!
I would rather expect that, the UMTAS is only a placeholder and eventually they will equip these USVs with Kuzgun or Roketsan's NLOS.

The armed ones will also be used by LSTs and the LHD to assist amphibious operations and to clear and secure the beaches / do laser pointing for SAL guided artillery missiles. We don't need to wait long for these.

We will also see the ASW (without torpedoes) - ISR/ELINT versions deployed from ships, including the OPVs, or the future designs will incorporate the very light torpedoes.

YTKBs may even carry an ASW variant in near future when they receive an upgrade.

MCMW variant for sure will be deployable by the National MCMW vessel.

In a timeline;
1. Lightly armed (Umtas, Stamp, Sungur)
2. Ship deployed lightly armed.
3. Medium armed (NLOS, Stamp) Coastal ASuW
4. Coastal-Littoral ASW
5. Ship deployed ASW / ISR / COIN / Patrol
6. Ship deployed MCMW
7. Ship deployed ASuw
8. Coastal-Littoral large USVs capable of carrying MR - AShM or Atmaca.

Turkey’s ‘ULAQ’ USV Completes Firing Tests With New Weapon System

Antalya-based ARES Shipyard and Ankara-based Meteksan Defense successfully completed the firing tests by integrating a 12.7 mm remote-controlled weapon system into the ULAQ Unmanned Surface Vehicle.

Naval News Staff 24 Jan 2022

ARES Shipyard / Meteksan press release

ULAQ, which successfully destroyed the target by firing a missile for the first time in the world from an Unmanned Surface Vehicle in May 2021, will be the fearless guardian of sea borders, naval bases, ports and critical facilities with its new remote-controlled weapon system.

In the joint press release on January 24, 2022, Utku Alanç, General Manager of ARES Shipyard, and Selçuk Kerem Alparslan, President of Meteksan Defense, stated:
“We would like to express with great pride and happiness that we have successfully completed all tests including the firing tests with the 12.7mm weapon system of armed unmanned surface vehicle, ULAQ-AUSV. We are aware of how important the ULAQ Unmanned Surface Vehicle is in the protection of sea borders, naval bases, ports and critical facilities. In this context, we continue our intensive activities to integrate new systems to ULAQ within the scope of different requirements.”

Having cruising range of over 400 kilometers, over 70 kilometers speed per hour, day/night vision possibility, autonomy, crypto and electronic warfare protected communication infrastructure, manufactured from advanced composite material; ULAQ AUSV will be able to be benefited in executing tasks such as Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Intelligence, Surface Warfare, Asymmetric Warfare, Armed Escort and Force Protection, Strategic Facility Security. Unlike its version completed in 2021, Turkey’s First Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle ULAQ is equipped with a 12.7mm remote-controlled weapon system for critical base/facility and port defense purposes in addition to reconnaissance and patrol missions.

Following the new version, which is the first phase of the project initiated by ARES Shipyard and Meteksan Defence in the field of unmanned surface vessels and firing tests of which was successfully completed, the production of ULAQ unmanned surface vehicles for surveillance and intelligence, mine counter measures, anti-submarine warfare, firefighting, search and rescue missions will also be carried on.

Built since the 1930s, the 0.50" (12.7 mm) caliber Browning Machine Gun (BMG) M2 (Ma Deuce) is still one of the world's most widely used heavy machine guns. Employed today on many USN ships for action against hostile small surface craft and commando-type attacks which might occur in restricted waters.

This gun was initially designed near the end of World War I as an aircraft weapon. The design was modified for land use after the war and then designated as the Model 1921 machine gun. In 1932 the design was modified again and this design became the M2. The M2HB (HB = Heavy Barrel) version, introduced during World War II, is the most widely used model today and denotes guns using a thicker, air-cooled barrel, which was adopted in order to increase barrel life.
