of course and if Afghanistan refuses to enter the modern world history will repeat itself again. Thats geopolitics, only winners and losers and no one cares for the losers. Those afghans falling from the air will not get their lives back. What a way to go.

Out of interest why is their so much panic to run now? Are these afghans expecting to be executed by the taliban? Can't they just take their time and leave when the option presents itself?

Giving them land vehicles is one things, artillery as well, but giving Taliban Planes is going to require Taliban committing to some kind of deal that where China get's unrestricted and undisturbed access to natural ressources.

If you imagine that Taliban is going to get trainer jets and such you'll have to wait at least 20-30 years or so, and that is imo under the most favourable terms.

Maybe one warlord may get the planes because he's exactly what China/Russia wants, but not Taliban as an entity because as I pointed out earlier Taliban is a group of people consisting of different tribal leaders with each their own interpretation of laws and rules (after a basic set of understanding).

They already got dozen functional helicopters and were recently used to transport red unit to Kabul (Without importing IQ), Flew their first local air liner, Four SU17 fully functional and bunch of drones.
Isn't it earlier then 20-30 years!
No more warlords left there i.e Afghanistan, Surrendered, Escaped or Vaporized

The country barely functions and is only surviving because of handouts, these might stop now and their low living standards will continue to decrease so they are looking for a fast exit which is the airport.
