Just to be clear if there was justice in this world I would have the senior Taliban leadership from 2001 face criminal neglect charges and imprisoned for life. It would hanging but I am against corporal punishment of anysort. I guess being brought up in UK has sensitised me to some concepts which I might not have considered otherwise.
Going back to the charge against Taliban V.01 the fact is half a million Afghans have died since 2001 on account of US invasion and the subsequent war. Think of women, children and babies blown away. Those who now cry about female rights need to think about that. A 11 ton MOAB or Mother of All Bombs.
The MOAB weighs 22,600 lbs, filled with 18,700 lbs of explosives. Its blast radius is 1 mile and yield is equivalent to 11 tons, or 22,000 lbs, of TNT.
This is crude weapon that wipes out everything in one mile radius. It does not differantiate between a baby and Taliban. These were used in Afghanistan.
All these deaths are as direct result of Taliban V.01 failing to resolve the issue when it came knocking at their door in 2001. The appropriate response should have been to hand over the Saudi Arab Osama Bin Laden along with his Arabs of AQ. A assurance to not provide any sanctuary to trans-national groups like AQ, ISIS etc would have been sufficient. Even if involved eating humble pie it would saved 20 years of occupation and horrible deaths of the children of Afghanistan and the spectacle of US soldiers marching through thier lands. This is where the code of Pashtunwali loaded with Islamic vibes looks way past it's sell by date.
