This is peak autism. Congratulations to Americans. They achieved.. something., Only 2% of the entire country of Afghanistan is covered by forest.
Ok,. apology
now anyways, I'm aware of Pakistan ability to negotiate with larger power like China.
China to get 91pc Gwadar income, minister tells Senate
Gwadar Port Authority will get 9pc share in the income for the next 40 years.www.dawn.com
now, don't you think Pakistan could possibly ended up a loser in this situation???
20 years of absorbing spillovers from Afghanistan and there's no guarantee your country having any spoils in the end at all??
What makes you think Pakistan could have it's say???
Actually there are large areas in the north that are forest but the point of wasted or corruption stands. Most of that 2 trillion dollars they spent went on over charged contracts to US defence or logistic giants who then siphoned most of the money back to USA. The 20 year war had created a economic ecosystem in USA that literally fed from the war. This is peak autism. Congratulations to Americans. They achieved.. something.
One liners and sounbbytes only impress fools. If China can get the Gwadar Port to become a hub then even 99% is of port revenue is fine. What matters is the city grows around the port. The industry, the zones, the connectivity etc.
am sure you wont even click. One liners and sounbbytes only impress fools. If China can get the Gwadar Port to become a hub then even 99% is of port revenue is fine. What matters is the city grows around the port. The industry, the zones, the connectivity etc.
Do you ever think before you post? Using Israeli media as referance on Pakistan or Gwadar [the correspondant is probably Indian] is like using Armenian media as referance for Turkish issues or [on the presemuption your a Indonesian] a Timorese referance when you lot were having problem with them.am sure you wont even click.
and Gwadar is not the point either.
in the long term my prediction is this. there are 2 camps currently in the Taliban/IEA. One who doesn't want to spoil the victory and the others are hardliners who don't want to compromise, this camp are from the Haqqani/Al-Qaeda veterans or supporters, also worth mentioning are from the TIP, TPP and ETIM factions.
Taliban could only play the balancing games for so long until they have to choose:
1.Either dispose the hardliners to gain international legitimacy (could be limited to China and Pakistan)
2.Accept the demands of international Jihad from the hardliners.
point no.2 will be hard to achieve and this alone could cause the movement to splinter.
if the Taliban can't control the hardliners, there could be conflict which could escalate into war, and if the Taliban invited outside power to help them curb dissent, they will be viewed as traitor and foreign suck ups.
Taliban leaderships could very well be in a position where they will fight a mounting islamist insurgency in the countryside while they are increasingly cornered in urban centers. In short a reverse play of the now defunct government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Might want to remind people that the people who ran the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan are once the insurgents who successfully ran an insurgency and routed the communists from power.
again in reference to my post #5121 , #5124, #5366
So yes, the possibility of a continued civil war in Afghanistan is a strong possibility. Especially among the hardliners in Taliban and the moderates. Especially disagreement over the Taliban envoy and officials remarks about Uyghurs, Shia and leaving Al-Qaeda.
It will not be to the scale we have seen. This will be more on the lines that many countries face -l ike Turkey from PKK etc Taliban are well placed to handle ISIS-K etc. That means while the war for the US+Coalition is largerly over, for Taliban...let's just say they're in for another one.
