Yes because UAE left and found another lover called Israel. You don't want allies like that, they made deal with Cyprus. If they make a EEZ agreement they will have share in the oil/gas fields. For that they gave up big part of ther EEZ. What do you want to do with that kind country?

As long they honour ther agreement with Cyprus ther will be not more then trade with them.

As well as possible air detachments providing protection from the air... Unless of course you plan to deploy them alone. Mounted stingers providing very short air defence are an interesting addition.

The Egyptian navy is undergoing quite the modernization. I dont think it will be enough however to properly defend the two Mistrals. Its weird because usualy states purchase the neccesary fleet to support such vessels but Egypt buying the Misrals off the shelf like that caused for a massive gap in their supporting fleet to utilize these vessels properly.

Is there any interest in buying dedicated AAW frigates?

I meant tracked vehicles as first ones to land to secure the beach area for the amphibious operation.

but the circumstances of buying the misterals imposed this situation
and it was a really good opportunity to get these 2 great ships from france which was built for russia

Indeed thats the point, no EW suite or SIGINT suite but pay half billion for one ship . Look if they had brains they had chosen ADA class with VLS. Pakistans Ada class is much more capable then ther firgatte.

An LHD at class of Mistral wouldn't sail without proper self-defense , you may check similar LHDs like Izumo; Japanese, Wasp class; USN, Juan Carlos; Spanish Navy or Italian Trieste.
From your perspective, USN Aircraft carriers doesn't need 3 level of self-defense products (ESSM+RAM+Phalanx) since they are accompanied by AD destroyers.
It is not about deploying alone, but how you intend to operate these, in which conditions.
