With new developments, I think only serious foreign input that new produced wsrships continue to receive will be propulsion systems. Turkish industry has started to build up a frigate from top to down. This is an impressive industrial capability and this capability will be crowned with Tf2000 destroyers and Milden submarines in following years.

Please stop disregarding the point where we have started our journey. No one could dream of the point where we will be standing in just 5 years going forward. Fighter jets complete with national engines, Aircraft carriers, long range missiles tanks and everything else despite all the enmity we are facing from our so called allies and try to be worthy of all these blessings we will be bestowed with.
Nothing of the sort! Just making a point as a reply to previous share.

Highlights from the speeches of president

-TCG Istanbul will have domestic 3D and illumination radar and vertical launch system
- Process for Serial production of remaining 3 I class will commence in a short time
- Gökdeniz CIWS will be installed to TCG Istanbul
- After TCG Anadolu delivered, Aircraft carrier project will be officially commenced. Negotiations are proceeding
Please correct it if i remember wrong but there was no national solution radar suite and CIWS system for TCG Istanbul in the planning 3 years ago. Also early integration of the vertical launch system on first frigate shows that some of the missiles projects which we have been waiting for a long time are getting ready to emerge.

Mavi Vatan is now part of foreign policy and the lifeblood of the Turkish nation.

Great to see it being mentioned by the Armed forces High command.

Now this also symbolises naval expansion and the Turks having greater focus on naval affairs.

Our enemies have underestimated us once again by thinking the Turks would ignore naval affairs and wont bother defending its shores.

Well they were dead wrong especially Greece.

I will agree and applaud what you have said above, when the other 3 ships are finished by 2025.

Integrating own VLS + radar + CMS is an very important decision and this decision will lead to start a new era in Turkish Navy. It is for sure thag Naval missile programs are being accelerated because Integrating own VLS to a warship will directly oblige Turkey to use domestic missiles at these ships. After this period, Integrating foreign missiles including ESSM will be possible only if US authority gives needed permission because foreign missiles come with their own vertical launchers. After integrating MIDLAS to first I class, The national missiles (Siper, Hisar family, G40, Gezgin) will be the only missiles that these warships will fire. Thanks Allah to show us these great days!

I am finding it difficult to digest everything that’s happening today!

I-class launched!
New Midas system confirmed!
Galium based 250km range Aesa radar on I-Class!
Altay first tank off the production line!
Altay look-a-like Leo-4 modernised.
Akkor fitted on the tanks and the 8x8 BMC armoured vehicle!
630 HP indigenous engine in vehicle use!
Gokdeniz to be used on a sea platform first time!
G40 to be used in I-Class!
UAV operation confirmed off TCG Anadolu
Firtina 2 artillery ; first 3 of them newly delivered!

anymore???

I fully agree. TCG Anadolu is a white elephant as it is. A lot of money is buried in a not so useful platform. It’s only big advantage was going to be the f35B’s off it’s deck. Now that it is not going to happen, we could have been better off with 2 more Bayraktar class LST’s. It is more important now to finish the other 3 ships of the I-Class.
I disagree, value of that ship class will increase exponentially once you commence proper air carrier which would give proper air coverage, even with Istanbul class navy groups around it are formidable force amd your power projection capabilty is dramatically improved, your engagement in somaila, qatar, lybia will be releived of some current strains in logistical terms.

Exactlly. When there is planes on it. Then it becomes useful. Otherwise cheaper 2 x Bayraktar class LST’s could do the same job.

To have a carrier group you need at least something like this :
2 x f2000 air defence destroyers , 2 x f4500 class frigates. 2 x Reis class submarines And replenishment ships.
This ship is not really made for ocean going missions where heavy seas are prevalent (unless they have changed the design in the last year). Our Gabya class , even the small Burak class are more suitable. That is why you need a 4500 ton frigate for a carrier group.
I-Class is really for the Aegean and calmer parts of the Mediterranean.

@UkroTurk has suggested something great! The Japanese example! Turn this ship into a guided missile destroyer!

In the last case, the systems that will be foreign in the F515 are diesel and gas turbine engines, head cannon, 324mm torpedo.

Roketsan-Aselsan ORKA 324mm torpedo will be ready in 2023-2025. When MKE's naval gun is ready, the only system that will be foreign to the F516 is the engines. TAIS Engine is working on this issue. TEI has just started its work.
