Rotating Detonation Engine (RDEs) were also defined as scramjets in a conference. However, I could not download the pdf version.
Quote:
They are mostly applied for all kind of jet engines like ramjet, scramjet, turbine and rocket engines. Researches have been conducted with different combination of fuels like Hydrogen- Air, Hydrogen-oxygen etc to find the most efficient combination under laboratory conditions. Finally, the possible combination of engines is discussed.
Unquote.
“This technology can be applied to all kinds of jet engines like ramjet and scramjet.” This statement is important.
RDE produces axial and radial supersonic superheated airflow inside the combustion chamber. (A bit like the supersonic air passing through a scramjet). Normally it is a closed system. It does not need to breathe atmosphere. But the technique, theoretically, can be used to overcome some of the limitations of scramjets, ramjets, turbine and rocket engines. I can concur with that. But Rotating Detonation Engine is not a scramjet. The technology can be used in a scramjet as it is more efficient and has similarities. The technology, can also be used to improve efficiency and power of turbine engines.
It seems that Roketsan is actually working on a revolutionary space rocket engine with RDE. This is big!

Actually the subject is not new. Works on this issue in the USA.

Even GE is developing RDE engines to make Hypersonic airliners.

That means they already have a ramjet engine!
Supersonic Combustion Ramjet = scramjet.
Welcome Turkish “Meteor” AAM.
head of Tubitak sage said some month ago in youtube interview that they already developed Ramjet engine and probably by 2023-24 they will have Scramjet engine..

guys, also head of TEI said that they developed 4 jet engine so far, i think see nobody gave attention to that part. if we count, tj90, tj300, ts1400 and 1 missing. seems like TEi hide one engine from us which is tj1500 most probably for Goksungur... ;)

imagine you make thousands of them, send with cruise missiles, good luck to shoot them down...
let the enemy send its expensive air defense missiles against these..
I think SDB of Turkish version use this engine as its only 145kg. weight and power match well if you think TJ300 carry 360kg missiles and goes far than where SDB needs to go...
@Huelague while you were smiling to my comment without a proper answer or knowledge..

TJ35 if that counts.
when he mentioned how many of them is in mass production, he didnt mention the new one.. also if you remember, last year they said they made 9 engine, and now 10 and 1 more jet engine that didnt mention it.
also he said our of 10 total engines, 5 are in mass production, tj90, PG115, PD155, PD170, PG50, basically TJ35 is not there i think

While doing research on the subject, I saw something interesting. In an article published by the US Air Force Research Laboratory, they combined RDE engine technology with a turboshaft engine and operated it for 20 minutes without damage. By the way, ramjet and gas turbine technologies are the main subject of the article.

The first set of single crystal turbine blades delivered to TEI

They are still unfinished products, they will be further machined by TEI.

Shouldn't it have air ducts?
The blades for larger turbines like the motor for TFX would have more cooling air needs as they are bigger and have more real estate on them to work with. But the smaller engines like TS1400 have smaller blades and there only is one whole duct from the tip to the root of the blade as far as I can see. Perhaps some more ducts can be simply drilled in the post-processing and surface treatments that TEI will perform.
