Nah guys, i rather pay for my land and vehicle tax. Unfortunately i also got tax cut in my sallary.
Your taking plenty of exposure (finance) there. I no longer own any property nor auto vehicle, thus I could get by without taking the exposure.

Perhaps you should revised your arguments, learning from curret secondhand Vessel in Navy inventory how come 40 + years of commision called interim, furthermore this Maestralle also got some enhancement (perhaps will be better than PKR, muehehe) so, they will serving ID Navy for around 20 yrs.

i mean, what interim did you mean ?, we're already in dire need for both quantity and quality of warmachines (according to some experts).
Also if this interim stuff got upgrade, they still can bite & ressist tho 😁
By interim, meaning its only temporary to boost platform quantity in the shortest term. Having additional modern surface combatant is nice. But how long it takes to build them compare to procuring used but battle ready platform❓

My only worry with all these new modern platform is material readiness & logistic. Particularly the availability of fuel, spare parts, and naval ordinance (missiles & heavy torpedo)

The reason why MoD chose FREMM is the US. With US Navy chose FREMM and at large number at least 20 sample plus Italy and France itself already ordered 20 units (Made it one of the most largest Frigates type in term of population), there is almost guarantee for the continuous support for FREMM type warships for at least four decades or more. Compared with limited edition of SIGMA and other contender FREMM logistic support from OEM Will be guaranted, even chance of improvement is available at this point.

Iver Huitveld class is one of good choice too, UK Babcock already emerged as big support center for this type warships. Meanwhile FFM 30 Japan already ordered 20 units, and they have same logistic footprint with their Akizuki class Destroyer.

And the rest is boil down with how thick our Government wallet to financing the maintenance and logistic support.

I'm worried someone will "forget" or miscalculate the materials & logistic need of those new platform (as in not putting them inside the budget). I also seriously worry about all the needed naval ordinance (missiles & torpedo) for the same reason.

Wait, babcock does not own Iver design, they have adopted the design to cut-off design costs to create a new design for Type-31 (with Team 31 which OMT is part of) and offer flexible Arrowhead 140 design again in collaboration with OMT who is the designer.
Type 31&arrowhead only shares the outer-look similarity with Iver they are both built on different basis.
And as of 2021 i haven't heard if babcock has bought OMT off.

Wait i did forget this:
New cadet training ship which can emulate sufficient subsystems of those large frigates.

And now here comes the MRO challenges for the navy's, with our current condition of facilities we had, that an "uh-oh" for this ambitious plan, we have to upgrades most any of our facilities to support it.

It is quite "rare" in Indonesia to having such massive dry dock, PT. PAL only has 2 dry docks, 1 is for shipbuilding and the other is only for maintaining, both dimension's below 200 meters in length and width of only 30-35 meters, plus some additional numbers comes from private shipyard

And it seems even for now, the navy is still overwhelmed for that MRO issue,

and the other question is, if we adding more and more naval vessel, will that the obsolete one will be retired soon as parallel with the new ships to come? such as
14 Pattimura class corvette
5 Van Speijk class frigates
some dozen of LST, Logistic, and small patrol ship

Yeah its like how Mitsubishi had to change name "Pajero" to Montero for spanish speaking countries.

"Pajero" means kind of self-relief enthusiast in Spanish naughty-language IIRC, heh.

Huge almost to be destroyer blue water asset FREMM is going to travel all the way back into to mid of the green water archipelago to park at the pier or get re-armed and rotate its crew or receive maintenance? Doesn't make any sense.

Indonesia will need some more ports nearby to the blue waters they want to utilizise these ships and even the larger ones.
Or make some of the commercial ports dual-use by locating a navy HQ with maintenance team and spare parts, missiles etc.

Navy had established third fleet in Sorong and upgrade of the pier along with infrastructure is being done gradually. And Sorong would be one of Navy main Naval Home base.

There is also effort to upgrade Natuna and Tarakan Naval base into second tier Naval base, so far they can cater the presence of SIGMA class Frigate and other type of Corvettes ships. Further enhancement would be done in near future

Soon AL will have italian frigates with mbda missiles, if france succesed sell the rafale to AU, they will also using mbda missile,
Is there any plan for mbda to invest in indonesia? Can we ask them to manufacture their missiles localy in our soil, at least ask them to ToT for mica ng, aster series and exocet block III?

From brownwater coastal Navies suddenly emerged as Big Greenwater Navy bordering to the blue ones (minus Air arm based on flat top platform and land strike Submarine platform)
if this really happen, i do hope those responsible doesn't do something funny with the sustainment and maintenance budget of the fleet. Will really break my heart if something bad relating to maintenance and sustainment happened to those mighty and beautiful ships and their crew

If we really want to counter the red dragon in a hard manner, there's no way we can do it alone. The only solution would be to pick a side and join a coalition of similar minded countries.

Joining quad ? Even India now has the clearer stance than Indonesia
