They usually don't do it unless it is in service.

J-35 (its early prototype) was flying for years.

But this one is from few months ago after it entered service with PLAAF.

most of the time I love your perspective I really mean it ...... objective and Critial which is quite rare!! dont get me wrong but when it comes to China your objective and critical thinking requires a bit polishing

China became the first country to operationalize ''this type of UCAV'' which is made in China

Russia Became the first country to operationalize ''this type of UCAV'' which is made in Russia and even lost one in Ukraine

We should also take into account the political and even strategic concerns of any given country as well, I believe. Like one man’s food other man’s poison, you know.
Turkey, for instance, parading every step of its projects with a lot of fanfare, if you ask me. But I also can understand the reasoning behind starting from political PR/propaganda, all the way up to showcasing its newly gained capabilities with every new hardware, hence creating a deterrent for its foes.
