They usually don't do it unless it is in service.

J-35 (its early prototype) was flying for years.

But this one is from few months ago after it entered service with PLAAF.

We should also take into account the political and even strategic concerns of any given country as well, I believe. Like one man’s food other man’s poison, you know.
Turkey, for instance, parading every step of its projects with a lot of fanfare, if you ask me. But I also can understand the reasoning behind starting from political PR/propaganda, all the way up to showcasing its newly gained capabilities with every new hardware, hence creating a deterrent for its foes.

I feel the same way. I’m not raged or gone mad but just feeling bad for whole thing.
The loss of life at a plane crash is tragic, regardless of nationality. Also, aviation enthusiasts universally don’t enjoy such tragic accidents but rather feel sorrow for the loss of crew and souls out of respect of this profession.
So sad indeed.
