Missiles ranges not only related boosters or rocket fuels, Range of active radar seeker, sizes of battery, datalink array etc.

İf we put a very less ranged active radar seeker to long ranged missile its performance can be bad.
its guided on midway or to the range of seeker by FCR

Seeker development for SIPER will be completed towards end of 2022, ready for production in 2023

As we can see on this roadmap from Aselsan, two types of seekers are being developed for SIPER.

Turkey successfully launched an air defense missile

Another stage in the development of the Siper air defense system has been completed in Turkey. It is planned to enter service in 2023.

A missile developed for the Turkish Siper air defense system was tested in Turkey. Ismail Demir, head of the Defense Industry Directorate (SSB) of Turkey, announced this.

“We have successfully completed yet another milestone in the development of our long-range, multi-level Siper air defense system,” it said.

The Siper air defense system will enter service in 2023.

First one is normal Siper seeker, second one can be either EA "elektronik arama" or ER "extended range"

Answering the questions of SavunmaSanayiST.com Editor-in-Chief Anıl Şahin, Roketsan General Manager Ikinci announced that the SUNGUR Low Altitude Air Defense Missile has started mass production and the HİSAR-O+ Medium Altitude Air Defense Missile System will be put into use in a short time.

SUNGUR Missile in Mass Production​

“Currently, SUNGUR is a platform whose mass production has begun. It is an air defense system that can affect air targets at an altitude of approximately 4 – 4.5 kilometers and at a range of 8 kilometers, and can be used by TEK-ER or over a platform. Currently, mass production activities continue, including the off-the-shoulder version of SUNGUR.

HİSAR-O+ Coming With Both IIR and RF Headed Missiles​

HİSAR-O+ actually consists of two versions. One of them is HİSAR-O+'s version with imager infrared (IIR) seeker, its acceptance tests are continuing, hopefully we will finish it towards the end of this year and start delivering it to the Turkish Armed Forces. The tests of the RF seeker-headed version of HİSAR-O+ are also continuing. We aim to complete it in 2022.

New missile with a range of 150 kilometers after SİPER Blok-I​

On the other hand, we made the test firing of SİPER Blok-I on Friday, October 5th. Actually, it wasn't the first shot, we did a lot of shots, but on Friday it really passed an important level in terms of ability display.

The SİPER Block-I Missile will be the first missile of the SİPER System to be used in the field. Of course, after this, the development of our missiles with a range of up to 150 kilometers will continue. The SİPER System will be an air defense system that we can see on the field in 2023.

SIPER, of course, is the top layer of our air defense umbrella. As emphasized by our President of Defense Industries, their development will continue from now on. In 2023 and beyond, SIPER Missiles in different configurations will enter the service of our armed forces.

This is the first time we've officially heard of a 150km range. Congratulations, but the main issue here is the implication that Siper missiles will continue to be developed and its range will increase beyond 150km. Turkey is developing a very powerful air defense system. By the way, congratulations @SavunmaSanayiST.com

Ukrainian officials confirmed that Turkey has procured the S-125 Air Defense Missile System and MARS-L Radar.
Why did we acquire S125 system ? Is it because of the radar and not so much the missile ?


Is it to compare it to Hisar O+

Libya most likely. Better than deploying Turkish systems, Turkey might have paid for that and then transferred to Libya.

Is it a post related to back then ? I thought it was a new system.

Libya most likely. Better than deploying Turkish systems, Turkey might have paid for that and then transferred to Libya.
That is one possibility the other is to have the system in our training facilities, we have to know the abilities of such systems against our drones and aircraft to have good counter measures. (especially our drones did well against Pantsir, knowledge is needed for that)
